On August 10, the Gaza Civil Defense Authority said that the total number of people killed in a recent Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza City has increased to about 100.

The agency said three Israeli missiles hit the school, which is currently a shelter for displaced people in the Mediterranean territory, and described it as a "horrific massacre". In addition to the victims killed, dozens of people were injured.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it had accurately attacked targets of the Hamas Islamist movement at a command center at Al-Taba'een school.
The airstrike came two days after officials in the Gaza Strip said more than 18 people were killed in airstrikes on two other schools in Gaza City.
On August 9, the Israeli army stated that its soldiers were being deployed around the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, after leaving in April this year following months of fighting with Hamas.
Earlier, on August 8, the Israeli army issued a new evacuation order for many areas in the city, forcing thousands of people to evacuate. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of August 8, at least 60,000 Palestinians may have been evacuated to the west of Khan Yunis in the past 72 hours, said Florencia Soto Nino, Deputy Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General.
