The place that Canadian tourists visit to experience beef noodle soup is a sidewalk restaurant located right at the intersection of Pham Ngu Lao Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The restaurant specializes in serving pho dishes, the most famous being beef noodle soup and beef stew.

He arrived at the restaurant at 1 p.m. but was quite surprised because at that time there were still many customers enjoying pho.

At the restaurant, Mr. Sean ordered a mixed beef pho dish for 80,000 VND, with a free glass of cold lemonade. While waiting, this man shared his first impression of a pho restaurant in Vietnam. That is, the table is always filled with herbs and spices for diners to choose according to their preferences.

“Look, the restaurant has prepared a plate full of herbs, including basil, coriander, Vietnamese coriander and blanched bean sprouts. Next to it is a tray of condiments such as chili sauce, black sauce, garlic vinegar and stewed chili,” said Mr. Sean.

The Western guest also expressed his impression of the attentive and clean service. Items such as chopsticks and spoons were carefully wrapped in paper, and there were also wet towels for guests to use if needed.

When the waiter brought out the hot bowl of pho, Mr. Sean was excited and immediately tasted the first spoonful of broth. The customer continuously expressed his satisfaction, nodding his head in approval of the flavor of the pho broth.

Then, he added spices to his beef pho bowl, from garlic vinegar and lemon to herbs and bean sprouts. The man wanted to experience the taste of pho like a real local, so he did not hesitate to experience all the ingredients that go with beef pho, except for chili sauce because he "didn't want to sweat".

According to Mr. Sean's observation, the bowl of pho was very full, including rare beef and well-done beef, sliced into thin, bite-sized pieces. In particular, the pho noodles were a bit different, at first glance quite similar to vermicelli because they were a bit small in size and not as flat as usual.

A Canadian tourist commented that the pho broth was a bit sweet but even better after adding spices. The beef was tender and fresh. The aromatic herbs served with it also had an attractive flavor. “All I felt was delicious. I absolutely loved it,” he said.
