This morning, August 14, the Propaganda Department of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee held a conference to exchange information with universities, colleges, vocational schools and vocational training schools in Quang Tri province - 2024.

In recent times, the Party Committees and leaders of schools have actively focused on political and ideological education; regularly orienting cadres, teachers, students on issues of public concern.

Currently, in general, the number of staff, lecturers and employees in schools is guaranteed according to regulations; increasingly standardized and improved in terms of qualifications and quality; management activities and teaching methods have been innovated, contributing to improving the quality of education and training. Admissions and training are always of concern to schools.

However, most schools currently enroll lower than planned, and the quality of input is limited due to many reasons. Some of the main reasons include: competition between educational institutions in neighboring localities is increasingly fierce; occupations and training types are not diversified; and job opportunities after graduation are not attractive.

The difference between students registering for different professions, some professions exceed the quota, some professions have few students registering; the income of public service units is still low and unstable. Lao students studying at some schools face many difficulties in living and studying due to the current economic situation in Laos.

The structure of the teaching staff is not balanced with the training professions, there is a local surplus and shortage of teachers in some departments. Some schools face difficulties and obstacles due to policy mechanisms; the technical facilities of some schools, although invested, are still not synchronized...

At the conference, representatives of the schools made recommendations and proposals on issues such as: digitizing enrollment work; investing in building dormitories to ensure accommodation for boarding students; appointing professional titles of lecturers of all levels; procedures for announcing enrollment, receiving and training Lao students; supporting funding for repairing degraded works and items; supporting cooperation and joint training in primary and secondary school education.

Propose that the province support Hue University in developing a detailed project to merge Quang Tri Pedagogical College into Hue University Branch in Quang Tri and develop it into a member university of Hue University. The Transport Vocational College recommends that relevant departments, branches and sectors continue to pay attention so that the school can soon be granted land to build an examination center...

School leaders also exchanged and discussed good and creative practices and shared solutions and models on effective training and enrollment linkages to support each other's development.

In the coming time, schools will continue to effectively implement Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU, dated October 4, 2021 of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee on digital transformation of Quang Tri province to 2025 with a vision to 2030; Directive No. 21-CT/TW dated May 4, 2023 of the Secretariat on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the quality of vocational education to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Effectively coordinate the implementation of the policy of student streaming after secondary school... Strengthen education and orientation for cadres, party members, employees, especially students to raise their sense of responsibility in using the internet and social networks.

For recommendations from schools, representatives of the Propaganda Department will receive, synthesize and submit to competent authorities for consideration and resolution in the coming time.
