With this revenue, "Red Rain" officially became the first historical, revolutionary war-themed film to reach a revenue of hundreds of billions after less than 1 week of release.
“Red Rain” is a fictional film inspired by the 81-day and night battle at Quang Tri Citadel , produced by the People's Army Cinema, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen. This is the third film with the theme of revolutionary war to be released commercially in theaters, after the pilot case of “Peach, Pho and Piano” in early 2024 and “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark” released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Right from the early screening on August 21, “Red Rain” received many positive comments, based on its authenticity and rich emotions, along with the meaningful symbols shown in the film.
Participating in the film is a very young cast such as Do Nhat Hoang, Ha Anh, Steven Nguyen, Nguyen Hung, Dinh Khang, Phuong Nam, Hoang Long... Among them, many faces are still very new to the big screen, there are even actors participating in a film project for the first time.

From the premiere until now, “Red Rain” only took 4 days to reach the 100 billion VND revenue mark. According to Box Office Vietnam at 10:00 p.m. on August 24, the box office revenue of “Red Rain” was 100.137 billion VND. Thus, on average, this film earns about 25 billion VND in theater tickets per day.
This is a good sign for Vietnamese cinema, especially for genres of films that are not suitable for many audiences, such as revolutionary war and historical films.
However, "Red Rain" is facing the risk of serious copyright infringement when many viewers secretly film the content of the movie and post it on platforms and social networks to attract views or create content, affecting the efforts of the film crew.
In addition to calling on the audience to comply with the Intellectual Property Law and not commit copyright infringement acts, the film crew members also hope that the authorities will have a solution to completely handle this situation to protect the creative artistic rights of the entire crew.
