Upbeat patriotic music released before September 2nd

After the resounding success of Continuing the Peace Story on April 30 with more than 6 billion views on all platforms, the Vietnamese music market, especially songs about love for the homeland, entered a rare vibrant period.

The "6 billion view push" not only affirms the power of patriotic music on digital platforms, but also paves the way for a series of new songs on the occasion of the September 2nd holiday. On the eve of National Day, singers continuously release songs about the homeland, revolution, and national pride, painting a musical picture full of excitement and emotion.

The opening song is the MV Nguyen La Nguoi Viet Nam (I Will Be Vietnamese) released on August 1st by Vo Ha Tram. The effect from the performance of Continuing the Story of Peace at the April 30th celebration has given the female singer more motivation to introduce a patriotic song with a strong personal touch, after nearly 20 years of persistently pursuing political music.

"That is a great motivation, a spiritual encouragement for an artist pursuing a music genre that is considered "choosy about listeners" like me to feel that I have to do something right now, right now," she shared.

The new song by young musician Doan Minh Quan has a familiar melody and refined lyrics, honoring the contributions of our ancestors and those who sacrificed for independence. Vo Ha Tram's powerful, emotional voice is considered the soul of the work.

The female singer said she wanted the song to reach young people by incorporating simple but meaningful sayings such as "Peace is beautiful" or "If there is an afterlife, I still wish to be Vietnamese"...

Immediately after that, the DTAP group combined with People's Artist Thanh Hoa, Phuong My Chi, and Truc Nhan to release Made in Vietnam , an MV that is likened to a "musical train across Vietnam". The work takes viewers on a journey connecting the past - present - future, recreating the cultural beauty from fishing villages, fish sauce markets in the West to a grand scene gathering 100 famous faces such as "swimmer" Anh Vien, Miss H'Hen Nie...

DTAP said that the launch of Made in Vietnam on the occasion of National Day, September 2, is not a coincidence. The group has been nurturing the project for more than a year with the desire to pay tribute to the core values that make up the Vietnamese identity, from culture, history to people.

"On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the moment when the whole nation looks back on the journey of building and defending the country, we want to join the flow of history through music. This is the moment when love for the homeland and national pride are most strongly aroused. When Made in Vietnam plays, we believe that emotion will resonate, spread and touch the hearts of all Vietnamese people," DTAP shared.

Singer Tung Duong and musician Nguyen Van Chung also brought the song Vietnam - Proud to continue writing the future with an EDM arrangement combined with violin. Tung Duong's powerful voice combined with images recorded at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi Flag Tower and other famous landmarks, helped the song quickly reach more than 1.7 million views in just one day.

Not to be outdone, on August 22, Hoa Minzy also released the MV Pain in the Middle of Peace (a song composed by Nguyen Van Chung), to talk about the loss and cruelty of the Vietnam War. The MV, with lyrics depicting the loss of war, combined with footage depicting the old context, touched the hearts of many viewers and received a series of positive effects. After 1 day of release, the song quickly reached 1 million views.

Meanwhile, musician Nguyen Van Chung continues to collaborate with Duyen Quynh with Nguyen The Vi Binh Yen - a song composed in 72 hours to pay tribute to the People's Public Security force. Duong Hoang Yen brings meaningful lyrics in To Quoc Trong Sang Mat Sua. Trang Phap launches Mai La Nguoi Viet Nam , inspired by moments of community connection...

Not only stopping at single products, the Vietnamese music market also recorded many long-term projects. After the success of the MV Made in Vietnam , on August 19, DTAP continued to attract attention with its debut album of the same name consisting of 16 songs, gathering 25 leading voices such as People's Artist Bach Tuyet, People's Artist Thanh Thuy, diva Hong Nhung, Vo Ha Tram, Suboi, Toc Tien, Lam Bao Ngoc...

In particular, the two songs "Mua Gio Boi Tren May Nha " (My Tam) and " Nha Toi Co Hang Mot Ca " (Ha Anh Tuan) from the album were also released as emotional MVs. DTAP also launched the cross-country project "Journey of Pride" along Truong Son, celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day.

At the same time, singer Nguyen Vu launched the series Vietnam - The Era of Rising with 34 songs honoring 34 provinces and cities after the merger. Meanwhile, the community project "Vietnam Love" also released the MV " The Next Life Will Be a Vietnamese Person" , bringing together People's Artist Thu Huyen, Quan AP, Lam Bao Ngoc, Duong Hoang Yen, and Quoc Thien.

It can be seen that the series of melodies released on the occasion of the great festival not only evokes heroic memories but also adds confidence and aspiration. The strong spread on digital platforms from Made in Vietnam with more than 4 million views, to MVs by Vo Ha Tram, Hoa Minzy, Tung Duong... shows that patriotic music is truly creating a vibrant wave before National Day.

And it is that atmosphere that makes the audience expect more "super hits" to appear following the story of peace , causing a storm on the occasion of September 2nd this year.

Timeless songs find new life on digital platforms

While newly released songs bring a vibrant atmosphere ahead of National Day September 2nd, at the same time, immortal red songs also have a spectacular "revival" in today's musical life.

In the first week of August alone, a series of national-scale art programs were held, connecting revolutionary music with modern audiences. Not simply entertainment shows, the programs cleverly integrated historical spirit, cultural identity and national pride into each performance.

V Concert - Radiant Vietnam is a clear demonstration of this trend. With the combination of DTAP, the Color Water band and the traditional orchestra under the direction of musician Dong Quang Vinh, the program brought a musical space that blends folk and modern.

Ha Anh Tuan, Ho Ngoc Ha, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Den, Truc Nhan, Toc Tien, Hoang Thuy Linh, Hoa Minzy, Phuong My Chi... appeared together, turning the concert into a colorful music party.

From Made in Vietnam to Nam Quoc Son Ha, Noi Vong Tay Lon, Hao Khi Viet Nam , a series of performances have created a "storm" on social networks thanks to their creativity, youthfulness, and national pride.

Before the V Concert - Radiant Vietnam had time to cool down , the audience continued to immerse themselves in the concert " Fatherland in the Heart" at My Dinh Stadium with more than 50,000 attendees. Surprisingly, a political art program has such a strong appeal to young people.

From August 19, the National Guard, the Road We Take, On the way to new compositions such as Continuing the story of peace , Beautiful Vietnam , dressed in new clothes with modern arrangements, elaborate staging, bringing unforgettable emotional moments.

In particular, the choir performance "As if there was Uncle Ho" on the day of great victory with 50,000 spectators became a highlight, showing the strong vitality of revolutionary music through many generations.

After the show, many performances quickly spread strongly on social networks. Vo Ha Tram was one of the singers who "took over the airwaves" with two performances, Mother Loves Child and National Defense Army .

"The moment standing in front of 50,000 people reminded me that patriotic music is the thread connecting artists and the public, connecting the past and the present. Achievement does not lie in awards or revenue, but in the moment when the artist's heart beats in unison with the audience," the singer shared after the show.

Not only on the big stage, red music is also strongly "reviving" on digital platforms. Familiar melodies such as Co gai mo duong, Noi vong tay lon, Dat nuoc tron niu vui, To quoc goi ten minh, Hat mai khuc hanh quan... continuously appear on TikTok and YouTube in vibrant remixes, attracting tens of millions of views.

Experts say that it is the social context and the approach of the younger generation that has created an unexpected resonance. The music genre that was once considered "selective" has now reached a wide audience, from the stage of large concerts to videos spreading on social networks, proving that revolutionary music has not only revived, but also made a breakthrough in the 4.0 era.

Patriotic music never cools down!

If in the past, revolutionary music was often only heard on major holidays, now this music genre is becoming a natural "lifeblood" in the artistic life, closely associated with the youth. The young artists who are persistently pursuing this music genre are also the ones who greatly contribute to making red music a music genre close to the youth.

DTAP, a young music group pioneering in combining traditional materials with modern musical language, shares that the path the group pursues is not a strategy to be different, but first and foremost comes from love and respect for Vietnamese culture.

"From the moment we started making music, we were fascinated by the unique way Vietnamese people tell stories. When we blend these elements into a modern musical structure, we found excitement, intimacy, and pride from young audiences. The important thing is to keep the Vietnamese spirit but retell it in a new language, so that the world can also empathize," DTAP said.

DTAP believes that when a product with a traditional sound is given a new look, young people not only accept it but also turn it into a widespread trend on social networks.

"We believe that patriotic music or products rich in national identity have never disappeared to be called "returning". It is still there, like an underground stream flowing through many generations, it is just that in each stage, the way artists breathe life into the work is different. We always find a way to harmonize the two elements, keeping the Vietnamese spirit intact and conveying it in modern musical language", DTAP shared.

The proof is the song Made in Vietnam released on September 2nd, when traditional instruments such as the monochord, zither, sona, drums, etc. were delicately combined in a modern rhythm. The work evokes pride and makes young audiences feel "catchy".

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter , Phuong My Chi - a Gen Z singer who has been pursuing folk music for more than 12 years and has devoted much effort to bringing traditional cultural elements into music - said that patriotism is always present in the heart of every Vietnamese person. And at some point, when watching a movie or listening to a song about the homeland, those emotions will flare up more intensely.

"I am very happy that the way I convey patriotism and Vietnamese culture through music is felt and loved by everyone. This gives me great motivation and more ideals to steadfastly pursue this music genre," the female singer shared.

Explaining his loyalty to the national music genre, the singer born in 2003 said: "I always have a burning love for my homeland. Even when participating in the international program Sing! Asia , every time I step on stage, I think of my hometown audience and my great love for the country. That is what gives me strong emotions to continue pursuing this music genre."

In another direction, singer Vo Ha Tram - who has been involved in folk and revolutionary music for nearly 20 years - said that her love comes from her direct experiences.

"I have been to the border, islands, historical sites, heard and seen, and then my love for the Fatherland naturally flows into each song. For me, each traditional and revolutionary song is a trip back to the past, a way to show gratitude and also an opportunity to understand and love my country more," she shared.

According to the female singer, traditional and revolutionary music is not outdated, but is like an underground stream that nourishes the national spirit. Vo Ha Tram believes that if artists know how to express themselves in a contemporary spirit while still preserving traditional values, this music genre will touch the hearts of the younger generation, because patriotism is always present, it just needs to be evoked in the right way.

Vo Ha Tram shared: "Recently, I was moved to witness young people receiving revolutionary music with a very new spirit, not only listening, but also covering, remixing, creating creative content to spread on social networks.

This makes me more confident that if music can live in the lives of young people in the spirit of the times, then that song will not only stop at the moment of release, but will live long in the community's memory, in a very contemporary way."

It can be seen that patriotic music, from familiar songs to new compositions, is proving its enduring vitality and ability to connect generations. When artists find new ways to tell old values, young audiences not only listen but also co-create and spread. That is proof that this genre of music is never "outdated", but is still an endless source of inspiration, nurturing pride in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
