Saigon Ward was established on July 1, on the basis of merging the entire Ben Nghe Ward and part of Da Kao and Nguyen Thai Binh Wards, with an area of ​​3.04 km² and a population of more than 47,000 people.

Saigon Ward is the core area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City, where many important administrative headquarters, modern high-rise buildings and the busiest commercial centers are located on Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Le Loi, Le Duan, Ham Nghi, Ton Duc Thang streets...

The headquarters of the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Saigon Ward reuses the headquarters of the People's Committee of District 1, built in 1876, and after nearly 150 years, it still retains its original architectural features. This headquarters was ranked as an architectural and artistic relic by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2024.
