Quang Tri Education Sector proactively responds to storm No. 5

GD&TĐ - The Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province requested units and schools to proactively deploy response plans to storm No. 5 (Kajiki).

On the morning of August 24, information from the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province said that the unit has sent a document to the units under the Department; Quang Tri College of Education Inter-level High School on strengthening prevention and control work; proactively being ready to respond to storms and floods.

Implementing Official Dispatch No. 04/CD-UBND dated August 23, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on urgent response to storm No. 5, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province requires heads of units and schools to regularly and closely monitor the developments of storm No. 5 and the risk of heavy rain causing flooding, flash floods, landslides, and other dangerous weather patterns that may occur in the coming days to have response measures.

Educational institutions need to promptly provide full information to teachers and students to proactively implement preventive measures to minimize damage caused by storms.

Based on the specific situation in the locality, heads of units and schools proactively adjust plans to gather students at the beginning of the school year; temporarily suspend non-urgent meetings, conferences and training sessions to prioritize the work of preventing, fighting and responding to storms and floods until the dangerous natural disaster situation ends.

Along with that, educational institutions need to proactively deploy plans to prevent and combat natural disasters; coordinate with competent authorities and local Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control to ensure absolute safety for students, staff, teachers and employees. Review and reinforce facilities at risk of being affected by storms and assign staff, teachers and employees to be on duty 24/7 to promptly respond when situations arise.

At the same time, proactively implement measures to prevent and combat storms and floods in conjunction with preparations for the new school year, such as cleaning and repairing classrooms, clearing the campus, preserving equipment and teaching aids to ensure safe conditions, ready to welcome students back to school after storms and floods, without affecting the opening and teaching plan for the 2025-2026 school year.
