"Independence Star" Program 2025: Heroic, Awakening Future Aspirations

The political and artistic program “Sao Doc Lap 2025” with the theme “For a prosperous Vietnam” was chaired by the Editorial Board of the Communist Magazine, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Party Committee, the People's Council and the People's Committee of Hanoi, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2, the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Day, and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection. The program was broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television, rebroadcast on Hanoi Radio and Television, People's Public Security Television (ANTV), and spread on other social media.

The program opened impressively with grand scenes showing the pride and patriotism of the Vietnamese people through the periods, especially the historic autumn 80 years ago - the time when the August Revolution succeeded, Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence in Ba Dinh Square; the solemn flag-raising ceremony and the song "Tien Quan Ca" echoed in the auditorium of Ho Guom Theater.

In chapter 1 with the theme "Under the majestic flag of the flying yellow star", through historical documents, commentary, and art performances, the program continues to affirm: "Independence" is the right, the fundamental value that the Vietnamese people have spent thousands of years fighting to "win, keep and protect", including the Ho Chi Minh era with the peak being the Party's birth in 1930, Uncle Ho's return to the country in 1941 to directly lead, from careful preparation with the establishment of Viet Minh, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the series of events at Tan Trao in the historic autumn of 1945, the August General Uprising and the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. Then came the “thirty years of fighting for national independence” with brilliant milestones: Dien Bien Phu in 1954, the Great Spring Victory on April 30, 1975, and the wars to defend the Fatherland in the Southwestern border (1978) and the Northern border (1979). All for two words: Independence – Freedom.

In that proud journey, since the founding of the country, the People's Public Security force was born right at the peak of the August Revolution in 1945 and played an important role in protecting independence, national security and social order in the new situation, the young Government. The People's Public Security force is the sword to protect the Party, the new Government, the new regime and maintain social order; it is a part of the two great resistance wars in the two regions until the great victory in the spring of 1975 with many hardships, sacrifices but glorious and resounding achievements.

In chapter 1, viewers have the opportunity to enjoy many works: “Oath at dawn” (composed by Ho Trong Tuan; performed by Do To Hoa and choir); “Under the shade of the revolutionary tree” (composed by Hoang Huy; performed by Hoang Tung and choir); “August 19” (composed by Xuan Oanh; performed by Viet Danh and male choir); Medley “Passing the northwest - Ho keo phao - Giai phong Dien Bien” (composed by Nguyen Thanh, Hoang Van, Do Nhuan; performed by Vu Thang Loi and male and female choir); “Being grateful to Ms. Vo Thi Sau” (composed by Nguyen Duc Toan; performed by Do To Hoa); “Uncle Ho’s words shake the four directions” (composed by Nguyen Lay, Tuan Long; performed by Hoang Tung and male and female choir); Ho Vi Dam instrumental music and dance: “Cuc oi” (Poetry: Yen Thanh; Music: Nguyen Trung Nguyen; performed by Pham Phuong Thao); “Round Footprints on the Sand” (composed by: Tran Tien; performed by: Anh Tu).

Chapter 2, with the theme “The Journey to Build Peace”, demonstrates the nation’s efforts to overcome difficulties and rise up in the process of innovation and reap many very basic development achievements. In that journey, there are countless silent sacrifices in peacetime by cadres, party members and soldiers. In the journey to build peace, protect the country, and bring happiness to the people, it acknowledges countless silent sacrifices by the forces, including the soldiers of the People’s Public Security, the People’s Army, and the medical force who are always ready to fight and sacrifice for the peace of the people.

Many famous works were also successfully conveyed by artists in chapter 2 such as: "Construction Song" (composed by Hoang Van; performed by Dong Hung); "Behind the Peace" (composed by Quach Thai Duy; performed by Vu Thang Loi); "The Soldier of the People's Heart" (composed by An Hieu; performed by Hoang Hong Ngoc); "Flying Over the East Sea" (composed by Le Viet Khanh; performed by Bui Hoang Yen, Minh Thuy), "Continuing the Story of Peace" (composed by Nguyen Van Chung; performed by Ha An Huy).

Chapter 3 with the theme “Aspiration for a Prosperous Vietnam”, delegates and audiences had the opportunity to enjoy many special art performances, including the medley “You are Ho Chi Minh” (composed by Anh Tu) and “Ho Chi Minh Song” (composed by Ewan MacColl, Vietnamese lyrics by Phu An) performed by Anh Tu and the choir; the medley “The Party’s Call to the Heart” (composed by Hoang Hong Ngoc) and “Vietnam, Spring is Here” (composed by Huy Du) performed by Hoang Bach, Ha An Huy, Hoang Hong Ngoc, Bui Hoang Yen, Minh Thuy and a male and female choir…

Through artistic language and many documentary films, chapter 3 conveys the message about the conditions, tasks and reforms being carried out at a stormy speed, "cannot be delayed any longer" to build a truly strong and prosperous Vietnam. This is also an affirmation that the memories of the historic autumn of 1945 and the heroic history of the Vietnamese people will always be a source of pride, a driving force and a foundation for us to continue building an independent, free, happy, prosperous, civilized, prosperous Vietnam with a high position in the international arena.

In the “Independence Star” program, many meaningful gifts and fresh bouquets of flowers were respectfully presented by Party and State leaders and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and people with meritorious services to the country...
