Police raid Hai Phong's largest nightclub, discover 26 people 'involved' with drugs

Hai Phong City Police said that at around 00:15 on November 21, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presided over and coordinated with functional forces of the City Police to inspect the New MDM nightclub (address Lot 26D, Dong Khe Ward, Ngo Quyen District).

At the time of the inspection, New MDM nightclub had 143 guests and 80 employees. Through a quick inspection, the police discovered 26 guests tested positive for drugs and temporarily seized some related evidence.

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department continues to investigate and handle the case.

New MDM Dance Club has been in operation since September 2019, with a modern design with a scale of 3 floors, each floor has an area of ​​1,000 m², located on Le Hong Phong Street, Hai Phong City. This is considered the top entertainment spot in Hai Phong.

On October 26-27, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Hai Phong City Police coordinated with functional units to conduct administrative inspections at 3 business establishments including Maximus Lounge (No. 02/16 Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Vinh Niem Ward, Le Chan District), Fleur d'Or (No. 50 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoang Van Thu Ward, Hong Bang District) and 191 Ho Sen (Hang Kenh Ward, Le Chan District).

During the inspection, the police discovered 59/391 people tested positive for drugs, and seized 4.04 grams of synthetic drugs, 1 marijuana cigarette and many related exhibits.

After the incident, 14 people were detained by the police for organizing illegal drug use for further investigation and handling.
