On average, the department performs more than 700 hematology and blood transfusion samples per day. The staff working at the Laboratory Department always strictly adhere to the organization and implementation process to ensure accurate test results and meet quality requirements.
Currently, the quality management system at the Laboratory Department meets ISO 15189 standards (international standards defining requirements for the performance of medical tests and quality assurance requirements in testing). This is an important standard widely used to ensure the quality and reliability of testing services.
Receiving and supplying blood to patients always ensures proper procedures.
In improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level, Ca Mau General Hospital has received the transfer of many advanced techniques. Including the implementation of Project 1816 of the Ministry of Health "Sending specialized staff from upper-level hospitals to support lower-level hospitals to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment". This is a project with a high scientific and practical basis, aiming to transfer technology and train on-site staff, to improve the skills of lower-level medical staff, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at lower-level hospitals; reduce the workload for upper-level hospitals, especially central hospitals.
The automated hematology system has been effectively applied at the Laboratory Department.
Dr. Tang Thi Ho, Head of the Department of Clinical Hematology - Musculoskeletal, Ca Mau General Hospital, said: "Based on the implementation of the Project, the department has now mastered specialized techniques in chemotherapy for a number of patients with blood cancer, leukemia, multiple myeloma, etc. This step forward is of great significance, creating conditions for patients at the grassroots level to use specialized and advanced medical services, reducing the overload situation for upper-level hospitals as well as reducing many costs for patients with long-term treatment. Currently, the department has 31 employees, the staff here regularly attend training courses to improve their skills. Promote scientific research, innovative initiatives. Implementing many specialized techniques well brings many benefits, efficiency and improves the quality of treatment".
Mastering specialized techniques in the field of clinical hematology is important for treatment, as well as providing the best medical services at the grassroots level.
According to the roadmap, Ca Mau General Hospital will continue to deploy more specialized techniques in departments, further improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in a specialized direction, meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people.
