On the evening of August 2, Binh Dinh province opened the 2024 Provincial Bai Choi Club Festival.

According to Mr. Huynh Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province, the Festival took place on August 2 and 3, with the participation of 9 Bài Chòi clubs from Quy Nhon city, An Nhon town, Hoai Nhon town and Hoai An, Tuy Phuoc and Tay Son districts.

The teams performed a complete game of folk Bai Choi, from the opening ceremony to the award presentation... Right after the opening ceremony, 5 folk Bai Choi clubs performed their parts.

Binh Dinh is the land where many types of intangible cultural heritage originated and spread, typically the art of Bài Chòi, Hát bội, traditional martial arts and many folk festivals and traditional craft villages.

In which, Bài chòi is a folk performing art form imbued with traditional culture in rural Binh Dinh and the Central provinces.

Along with time, the art of Bài Chòi is constantly selected, inherited, and enhanced, imbued with soul, creating the unmistakable cultural identity of the people of the Central region.

The precursors of Mr. Hieu's chants and performance style in the folk Bai Choi Association, along with ancient folk songs, gradually blended together to form and develop into a form of theatrical art as it is today.

The 2024 Festival of Bai Choi Clubs in Binh Dinh Province aims to preserve and promote the artistic value of Bai Choi - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

This is also a playground that contributes to inspiring the creative work of the team of professionals as well as the receptive heart and deep gratitude to the public who love and are passionate about the art form of Bài Chòi.
