19-8 Hospital cooperates to develop autologous immune cell therapy in cancer treatment

The implementation of the application of autologous immune cells in cancer treatment is part of the international cooperation policy, especially with countries with advanced medicine like Japan, of Hospital 19-8, bringing benefits to patients.

This is the sharing of Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thanh Tuyen, Director of Hospital 19-8 at the signing ceremony of a professional cooperation agreement between Hospital 19-8 (Ministry of Public Security) and SETA Vietnam Joint Stock Company on immune cell therapy, supporting medical examination and treatment in Japan, training to improve professional capacity for doctors of Hospital 19-8 in Japan and exchanging Vietnamese and Japanese doctors on the afternoon of April 14.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Director of 19-8 Hospital said that Japan is a leading country in practical medicine and biotechnology. SETA is a pioneer in technology to deploy autologous cell immunotherapy in cancer treatment in Vietnam. The rate of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing and getting younger in Vietnam. Currently, immune cell therapy is supporting the treatment of cancers such as lung, colorectal, liver and most solid cancers, bringing positive results to patients.

"The cooperation is not only to improve the quality of cancer diagnosis and treatment for soldiers and people, but also to gain access to many advanced and specialized treatment techniques from the world's leading medical industry, Japan. Thanks to this cooperation, in the near future, there will continue to be many more advanced and specialized applications in cancer treatment in particular and other diseases in general deployed at Hospital 19-8", Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thanh Tuyen emphasized.

According to Colonel Hoang Thanh Tuyen, the Ministry of Public Security always supports 19-8 Hospital in professional cooperation as well as training high-quality medical staff with countries with developed medicine, including Japan. In the near future, with the cooperation of SETA Vietnam and SETA Japan, 19-8 Hospital will send the first doctors to Japan to study new techniques to improve professional work and apply them to treating patients.

“We have had the opportunity to approach Japanese medicine in the fields of gastroenterology, cardiology, and now oncology. Hospital 19-8 hopes that SETA Vietnam and SETA Japan will become a bridge to help the hospital's medical team access and effectively apply autologous immune cell therapy solutions - especially in cancer treatment, as well as train, update and apply advanced techniques in paraclinical treatment, bringing the highest efficiency in health care for officers, soldiers and people", Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thanh Tuyen emphasized.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Khanh, Director of SETA Vietnam Company, said that Japan is willing to assist 19-8 Hospital in providing professional training for doctors as well as cooperating in technology transfer, aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at 19-8 Hospital.

After the signing ceremony, the Oncology Center of 19-8 Hospital will coordinate with SETA to implement the roadmap for receiving immunological technology, and at the same time start training trips in Japan for medical staff. At the same time, SETA will also support patients from Vietnam to go to Japan for treatment.
