On June 16, Kien Giang Provincial Police announced that they had arrested four suspects: Tran Van Tuan (born in 1993), Cu Huy Thien (born in 2006), Le Trung Thanh (born in 2003) and Tran Van Long (born in 1997) to clarify the acts of "Illegal detention, robbery, extortion and intentional injury".

Previously, at around 0:00 on June 15, Phu Quoc City Police (Kien Giang) received a report from a local resident that a group of people had staged an arrest, restrained them, forced them to write a debt acknowledgment, and then forced them to sign a land sale contract.

The group then used knives to control the victim and forced him to transfer money to their bank account. Notably, the group also beat the victim, causing serious injuries to his face.

Immediately upon receiving the report, Task Force 108 of Kien Giang Provincial Police, in coordination with the Major Crimes Department (Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security) and Phu Quoc City Police, deployed forces into many teams to quickly arrest the group of suspects.

By 4am on June 16, all four suspects were arrested by the authorities. At the investigation agency, the group of suspects initially admitted to their crimes.

Currently, Kien Giang Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and complete the case file for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
