In early 2025, the training, regularization and discipline management of the Dong Trieu City Military Command continued to affirm its central and core role in building a comprehensively strong armed force, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
Right from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee and the Command of the City Military Command have seriously grasped the resolutions and directives of the superiors, especially Resolution No. 1659-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on "Improving the quality of training in the period 2023 - 2030 and the following years". The organization of dissemination and education of training tasks has been carried out synchronously to all officers and soldiers, ensuring that officers and soldiers are deeply aware of the position, role and requirements of training in the new situation. On that basis, Party committees and commanders at all levels have developed strict, scientific, practical and timely training plans. The training of officers at all levels has been strictly implemented according to decentralization, through lesson plans and practical training, helping to improve the ability to advise on combat operations, command, manage and organize training.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Cong Vien, Commander of the City Military Command, emphasized: “We identify combat training as a central and continuous political task. Therefore, innovating training content and methods close to combat reality, taking test results as a measure, is always the top goal in the unit's direction and operation. Accordingly, the unit organizes training direction scientifically, close to reality with the motto "Basic, practical, solid", closely linking theory and practice, focusing on combat situations close to terrain conditions and characteristics of each unit and locality".
A notable highlight is the work of ensuring training materials. The City Military Command has proactively invested in, renewed and improved many training tool models such as AK and K54 targets, various types of spikes, explosives, barbed wire fences, etc. with a total of hundreds of training items fully equipped for the base units. The unit also registered 3 initiatives to improve training tool models directly serving training, contributing to cost savings and improving practical efficiency. The system of training grounds and training grounds is regularly consolidated and repaired to ensure favorable conditions for safe and effective training.
In the first quarter, training contents were fully organized according to plan, ensuring 100% completion of contents and time as prescribed; the number of training personnel always reached 90%. The test results were good and excellent. For officers, professional soldiers and part-time military control forces, the training contents included politics, law, regulations, logistics and techniques. The guards were thoroughly trained in guarding, patrolling and handling situations; their level and ability to perform their tasks were significantly improved.
In the context of the militia force having many different occupations, being widely dispersed, and having uneven qualifications, the training work encountered many difficulties. However, thanks to good coordination with communes and wards and creativity in organization, the City Military Command still ensured the number of participants and achieved high results in inspection and evaluation. In the first quarter, the whole city mobilized 365 comrades to participate in training. The results were 100% satisfactory, of which 75% were good.
With the motto of action "Good training, strict discipline, high combat readiness", the Military Command of Dong Trieu City is gradually building a regular, elite, and gradually modern armed force capable of completing tasks well in all situations. Lieutenant Colonel Bui Cong Vien, Commander of the City Military Command, affirmed: "The City Military Command continues to thoroughly grasp the direction from above, well implement the motto of training close to combat reality, close to the tasks and characteristics of the locality and unit; linking training with building a regular order, managing discipline and combat readiness, contributing to building a comprehensively strong city military force".
