100 private enterprises paid the budget more than 244,000 billion VND

In the newly announced list of 100 private companies that pay the largest tax (PRIVATE 100), the top 10 names are all familiar private corporations, with half of them being businesses of USD billionaires on the list, including Vingroup, THACO, Hoa Phat, Techcombank and Masan Group.

To be in the Top 10, enterprises must have paid a budget of 4,800 billion VND or more. There are 4 enterprises paying over 10,000 billion VND including Vingroup, THACO , TC Group and Hoa Phat. These are all 4 private multi-industry corporations operating in many important fields.

FPT Technology Group is in 5th place. The next four positions are all banks including Techcombank, HDBank, VPBank andACB ; in 10th place is Masan Group.

In total, the top 10 enterprises of the PRIVATE 100 list paid a total of nearly VND 148,000 billion to the budget in 2024, an increase of 36% compared to the total payment of nearly VND 109,000 billion last year.

This impressive growth rate has a significant contribution from Vingroup with the payment increased by 82% from 30,900 billion to 56,200 billion VND. Hoa Phat and HDBank are also units with impressive growth rates of 48% and 101% respectively compared to the previous year.

In total, the top 100 enterprises of PRIVATE 100 have a total budget contribution of VND 244,400 billion in 2024 - an increase of more than VND 70,000 billion compared to the list of last year. The lowest enterprise has a contribution of more than VND 321 billion.

The top half of the list, including 48 enterprises, are units with tax payments of over VND1,000 billion - a significant increase compared to only 30 enterprises on last year's list.

The difference between the tax payments of the top and bottom companies is huge: The top 4 companies account for 45% of the total tax payments; the remaining 6 companies in the Top 10 account for 16%. The 50 companies in the bottom half of the list account for just over 10% of the total tax payments of the Top 100.

In 2024, the private economic sector will account for 53.4% of total social investment capital, 82.07% of total labor in the economy, contribute 38.6% of total pre-tax profit and 51% of total income generated for employees in the enterprise sector. The private economic sector will contribute 43% of total GDP, accounting for 57% of GDP growth in 2024, the largest contribution among economic sectors.
