The National Training Center for Counter-Terrorism is a specialized unit that trains mobile police forces with rigorous combat programs, including shooting skills, martial arts, combined operations, and survival in complex terrain conditions such as forests, mountains, rivers, seas, and swamps.

Shooting exercises at the center are designed based on realistic scenarios, such as ambushes, pursuits, or hostage rescues, with high requirements for accuracy and ability to handle pressure.

Hanging bricks on guns is a unique method to help soldiers practice keeping their hands steady, their minds calm and their fighting spirit high.

To participate in the 6th Competition of Command, Military , Martial Arts of the People's Public Security Forces - Phase 2, 2025, these days, male and female CSCĐ soldiers are making efforts to practice many combat subjects, including shooting. The guns used here include CZ-75; MP5A3 submachine gun, Glook 17, HS 9, MP5 A3 submachine gun, APR 308 sniper rifle...

The time to perform the exercise initially ranges from 10 seconds, 20 seconds and up to 1 minute. Each soldier has a different way of focusing on mastering the gun in his hand.

By hanging bricks of equal weight on the gun barrel, the soldiers must maintain the same position for at least 1 minute. This exercise aims to train stability and control of hand strength, the key factor for accurate shooting.

The weight of the gun and brick is about 5kg. For a normal person, it would be difficult, but for the female CSCĐ after many days of training, they can keep the brick from swinging in the air.

Persevering in holding the gun in the same position, Sergeant Ngo Thi Dung said that at first she could only hold it for a few seconds, but after a period of practice, the female CSCĐ could perform the exercise of hanging bricks on the gun for 1 minute.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Quang Trung, a training officer at the Mobile Police Command (Ministry of Public Security), said that this training method helps soldiers, whether male or female, increase their bravery, maintain concentration, and be ready to respond in all situations. "The exercise of hanging bricks on a gun is simple but brings clear results in the unit's live-fire competitions," said the lieutenant colonel.
