On June 24, Ha Tinh province solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 310th anniversary of the birth of the third-ranked scholar Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713 - 2023), the 280th anniversary of the birth of the famous Nguyen Huy Tu (1743 - 2023), the 240th anniversary of the birth of the famous Nguyen Huy Ho (1783 - 2023) and to receive the Certificate of recognition of the Han Nom Documents of Truong Luu Village as a documentary heritage of the Memory of the World Program in the Asia - Pacific region.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung; Standing Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, representatives of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); representatives of leaders of Nghe An and Quang Binh provinces; representatives of departments, branches and sectors; Party committees and authorities of Ha Tinh province, Can Loc district and Kim Song Truong commune; representatives of the Nguyen Huy, Hoang Van and Tran Van clans in Kim Song Truong commune.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized: Ha Tinh is a sacred land, with outstanding people, rich in historical and cultural traditions, a place where many tangible and intangible cultural heritages are known throughout the country and the world, such as: Ca Tru, Nghe Tinh Vi - Giam folk songs are representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity; Phuc Giang School Woodblocks, Hoang Hoa Su Trinh Do, and Truong Luu Village Han Nom Documents are 3 Memory of the World documentary heritages in the Asia - Pacific region. The whole province currently has more than 1,800 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots, including 2 special national relics, 86 national relics and 550 provincial relics.
In harmony with the flow of national history, the Nguyen Huy Truong Luu family - with many outstanding figures, has contributed many achievements in the fields of culture, society, education, politics, diplomacy, history, geography, medicine... Generations of the Nguyen Huy Truong Luu family have always succeeded, passed on, crystallized and spread many traditional values, leaving behind many brilliant cultural heritages to this day.
Reviewing the background, life and great contributions of the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh, the famous person Nguyen Huy Tu, the famous person Nguyen Huy Ho in various fields, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau affirmed that from the background, life and career of the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh, the famous person Nguyen Huy Tu, Nguyen Huy Ho, it can be seen that the Nguyen Huy - Truong Luu family has played a very important role in creating a cultural environment, creating cultural values for the homeland and spreading those cultural values throughout the Hong Lam region.
Through the changes of history, the cultural space of Truong Luu village still retains its unique value with many sediments, contributing to enriching the cultural traditions of the homeland, making a worthy contribution to the cultural heritage system of the nation. Preserving, conserving and promoting the values of the cultural heritage of our ancestors is a practical and meaningful work, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
With the dedication, hard work, and responsibility of the generations of descendants in the family and the attention of the province and the Central Government, in November 2022, the Truong Luu Han Nom Documents were honored to be listed in the World Memory Heritage list of the Asia-Pacific region. This is a collection of royal decrees of the Later Le and Nguyen dynasties to honor, bestow, and confer titles on a number of people of the Nguyen Huy, Tran, Hoang, and Phan families in Truong Luu village... These documents were written in Han and Nom characters on Do paper and silk between 1689 and 1943. These documents are now rare documents on culture and education, each document is a unique work of art.
In particular, up to now, Truong Luu is the only village in Vietnam with 3 heritages listed as documentary heritages of the Memory of the World program in the Asia-Pacific region. This is truly a great honor for the Nguyen Huy family, the people of Truong Luu village, Kim Song Truong commune, Can Loc district and Ha Tinh province. These documents are forever a priceless asset that our ancestors have left for our descendants.
Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau also informed that currently, along with focusing on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, Ha Tinh is focusing on investing and exploiting the potentials and advantages of culture and tourism to ensure harmonious and sustainable development; the system of tangible and intangible cultural heritages in the area is being cared for, preserved and promoted, contributing to educating traditions and promoting socio-economic development of the province. Ha Tinh hopes to continue receiving the attention and assistance of central agencies and international organizations to, together with the local internal strength, contribute to the province's increasingly rapid and sustainable development...
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong congratulated Ha Tinh when the Truong Luu Han Nom Documents were listed in the list of documentary heritage of the Memory of the World Program in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Han Nom documents of Truong Luu village (1689-1943) were collected by Professor - Academician Nguyen Huy My and together with Ha Tinh province, they built a dossier to submit to the UNESCO Memory of the World Program Committee. This is a collection written in Han and Nom characters, including 48 documents of 3 families (Nguyen Huy, Tran Van and Hoang family) in Truong Luu village. Of which, 26 documents are royal decrees of the Le and Nguyen dynasties (1689-1943), in honoring - bestowing gods, bestowing beautiful names - bestowing titles, bestowing titles; 19 administrative documents sent by the local government to the people of Truong Luu commune under the Nguyen dynasty (1803-1943) and 3 hangings with dimensions: 97x197cm, 121x177cm and 70x127cm given to individuals on the occasion of celebrating longevity and passing exams. Each document is a unique work of art...
According to Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, Ha Tinh's solemn organization of activities to celebrate the 310th anniversary of Nguyen Huy Oanh's birth, the 280th anniversary of Nguyen Huy Tu's birth, the 240th anniversary of Nguyen Huy Ho's birth, and the announcement of the Truong Luu Village Han Nom Document as a documentary heritage of the Asia-Pacific Memory of the World Program is an important cultural event, vividly demonstrating the consciousness of inheriting, continuing and honoring the sages of the province and the country.
To preserve and promote the cultural heritage values of Truong Luu and Ha Tinh province, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong suggested that Ha Tinh province urgently plan Truong Luu Cultural Village, have a master plan for preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritages of the province; mobilize resources, promote activities to promote, introduce and honor the heritages of the province and Truong Luu village; promote the application and digital transformation in the heritage sector; focus on exploiting, preserving and promoting the values at Nguyen Du memorial site, Dong Loc T-junction relic site, Huong Tich pagoda, relic sites of General Secretary Tran Phu and Ha Huy Tap, General Secretary Le Duan temple; coordinate with Nghe An province and other provinces and cities nationwide to preserve Nghe Tinh Vi - Giam folk songs, Ca Tru, Kieu plays, etc.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong hopes that families and heritage owners will continue to join hands and contribute with the State to protect and exploit effectively and scientifically the entire cultural heritage treasure of the nation, considering it an honor, pride, and great responsibility of each citizen towards their homeland and country.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong awarded a certificate recognizing the Han Nom documents of Truong Luu village as a documentary heritage of the Asia-Pacific Memory of the World Program to Ha Tinh province.
