Ha Hoa Power Company operates Flycam drones to monitor the power grid system in the area.
Ha Hoa Power Company is currently managing 368 transformer stations with a capacity of 99,701kVA; 659,322km of low-voltage lines; 292,590km of medium-voltage lines with 36,429 customers. Of which, 34,050 customers use single-phase electricity and 2,379 customers use three-phase electricity with a 100% electronic meter rate. Faced with the increasing requirements for management and operation of the power grid system, the unit has proactively promoted the application of science and technology in operation management such as: Remote electronic data collection technology; Recloser and LBS circuit breakers to automatically turn on and off when there is a problem; Flycam (UAV) application integrated with thermal sensors; Thermal camera; Hotline technology... This is a technology for constructing and repairing electricity directly on the line without having to stop the power supply, but still ensuring safe and continuous power supply to serve the production and daily life of businesses and people in the area.
The application of UAVs integrated with thermal sensors has effectively supported the screening of route corridors, fire prevention and minimizing the risk of incidents caused by natural disasters.
Since the beginning of 2025, through advanced and modern technologies, the unit has detected many points of poor quality equipment that are at risk of causing incidents for timely repair, ensuring safe and stable power supply and improving reliability in power supply. In particular, the application of UAVs integrated with thermal sensors is not only a technological solution but also an effective support in checking the route corridor, contributing to fire prevention and minimizing the risk of incidents due to natural disasters. In the past, instead of spending a lot of time, even all day, to find the incident point using traditional methods, workers can now accurately determine the location and handle the problem quickly through Ganh Dien - this application can quickly reach the designated location, record detailed images at the affected points and equipment, contributing to reducing power outage time and increasing labor productivity.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Chinh - the officer in charge of operating the Flycam drone, Ha Hoa Power Company shared: "UAV devices are equipped with modern cameras, capable of filming, taking pictures, and checking the status of the power grid even when the system is energized. This helps reduce the risk of occupational accidents for workers when having to check by climbing poles or cutting off power and optimizes time and resources. Up to now, this technology has greatly helped technicians in detecting and handling early incidents and defects on medium voltage lines, especially in mountainous, complex terrain and sparsely populated areas".
Ha Hoa Power workers operate thermal cameras to detect problems on power lines.
The power grid system in mountainous areas mostly passes through areas with complex terrain, making it difficult to inspect and monitor the power grid. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency of monitoring and operating the power system, Ha Hoa Power has developed a program to monitor abnormal condition warnings at transformer station measurement points through daily collection of operating data from DSPM and SPIDER measurement points. Based on the collected parameters such as: Phase voltage, line voltage, current, power factor, active power and phase angle..., the system will automatically analyze and give warnings about abnormal conditions for easy monitoring. From there, quickly deploy appropriate handling measures to ensure stable grid operation.
Advanced, modern technologies have helped Ha Hoa Power detect problems to quickly fix and repair them during natural disasters and floods.
Comrade Nguyen Quyet Tien - Deputy Director of Ha Hoa Power Company said: "The implementation of advanced and modern digital applications has helped the unit be more proactive in managing and operating the power grid, contributing to minimizing the risk of equipment damage, limiting power supply interruptions and improving safety in operations, especially during times of natural disasters and floods. In the coming time, we will closely follow the direction of Phu Tho Power Company to apply remote monitoring software, develop backup loops and optimize technical management... This helps ensure the reliability of power supply, contributing to improving the quality of customer services and aiming for sustainable development in the digital transformation era".
It can be seen that the application of advanced and modern technology into the management and operation of the power grid of Ha Hoa Power Company has actively contributed to improving production and business efficiency, increasing labor productivity, saving time and costs, ensuring safety for workers operating the power grid and meeting the requirements of local socio -economic development.
