Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, said that after the handover, the equipment will be put into use and serve the training of officers and staff of the Engineering Team, Level 2 Field Hospital as well as other training teams of the unit, contributing to improving the capacity of the Vietnam Peacekeeping force in general.
The Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations affirmed that the coordination between Vietnam and Australia for the above package of materials and equipment is another proof of the effective cooperation between the two countries' Defense Ministries in the field of United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations .

"The funding package helps the Vietnamese peacekeeping force have more conditions to improve the quality of training, prepare better forces, meet the increasing demands of the United Nations for humanitarian goals at peacekeeping missions, with people in Africa who are still facing difficulties, to demonstrate the responsibility of Vietnam and Australia in carrying out this noble mission," Major General Pham Manh Thang emphasized.
Meanwhile, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized that over the past years, the defense relationship in general and in the field of UN peacekeeping in particular between Vietnam and Australia has had many positive and effective developments, contributing to improving the capacity of Vietnam's peacekeeping force.

Australia is also the only country to date with which Vietnam has signed a Government -level peacekeeping partnership agreement in March 2024.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, in the coming time, Vietnam plans to continue promoting its participation in UN peacekeeping activities by expanding the area, scale, form, and fields of participation.
