The 50th anniversary of Tuoi Tre newspaper is an opportunity to look back on the newspaper's half-century journey, to be proud of what has been achieved and to add strength, courage and enthusiasm to the Tuoi Tre team today.
In mid-May 1975, when the country had just achieved peace and unity, First Secretary of the Party Central Committee Le Duan, who was working in the South, came to work with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.
He pointed out, "There needs to be a separate newspaper for the city's youth ."
This suggestion touched the dreams and aspirations of Saigon youth, students, and pupils who had worked both openly and secretly in the newspapers during the days of fighting for independence and freedom. The City Youth Union immediately organized the "City Youth Newsletter" and on September 2, 1975, the Tuoi Tre newspaper was born.
Up to now, Tuoi Tre has had 50 years of innovation along with the city in the development journey. That is 50 years of facing many challenges, and also 50 years of keeping the ideal flame of a writer for the country and for the people.
