At the program, BCNV presented 40 wigs (worth 140 million VND) and 40 pinkmate bras (worth 25 million VND) to patients. Patients were also instructed on how to use wigs and provided with free haircuts.

In an emotional moment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu (51 years old, residing in Vinh Linh commune), a breast cancer patient being treated at the Provincial General Hospital, shared: “As a woman, everyone wants to have long and beautiful hair. During 2 years of treatment, my hair gradually fell out. Today, receiving a beautiful wig from BCNV, I feel happy, joyful and more confident in life.”

Doctor CKII Nguyen Van Phong, in charge of the Oncology Department, said: “Cancer is increasing in number of cases as well as severity, not only affecting the physical but also strongly affecting the spirit of the patient. Currently, the department is treating 176 cancer patients. We are very touched to receive the attention and companionship from BCNV and units and individuals. These meaningful gifts will add strength and determination for patients to overcome difficulties and feel secure in their treatment.”
