General Secretary meets members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea

General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese High-Level Delegation met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts in Korea.

Within the framework of the State visit to Korea, on the afternoon of August 10, in Seoul, General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese High-Level Delegation met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts in Korea.

This event was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea, demonstrating the attention of the Party, the State and the General Secretary himself to Vietnamese intellectuals abroad, as well as the cause of developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang said that the Vietnam Innovation Network was sponsored by the Ministry of Finance and the National Innovation Center (NIC) to concretize the policies and guidelines of the Party and State on employing and attracting talents, absorbing the technological quintessence of humanity, and maximizing the intellectual resources of the entire nation, including the team of Vietnamese experts and intellectuals abroad.

Up to now, the Network has been present in 22 countries and territories with more than 2,000 members who are experts, scientists , general engineers, and chief architects in important industries.

At the same time, implementing the policies in Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo, in addition to 10 Innovation Networks in other countries, the National Innovation Center is also sponsoring 5 Innovation Networks serving the development of strategic technology industries to coordinate with universities, research institutes, enterprises and the National Data Center to solve major problems of the country.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang emphasized that today, in the new era of the country, the role of overseas intellectuals and experts has become more important than ever, especially in the fields of innovation and high technology. Participating in building the country does not necessarily require returning home to contribute, but can be done through connecting resources, sharing knowledge, and international cooperation, thereby maximizing the intellectual potential of Vietnamese people around the world for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang highly appreciated the members of the Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts in Korea for their positive contributions to innovation and digital transformation activities in Vietnam in recent times, such as: participating in giving opinions on building mechanisms and policies for private economic development, promoting strategic technology industries and actively contributing to solving major problems according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW; supporting domestic universities and enterprises to improve the quality of training, research, technology transfer and market expansion. Many members of the Network have opened businesses, transferred technology, invested and done business with Vietnam.

At the meeting, members of the Network and Vietnamese experts in Korea in strategic technology industries that Vietnam is prioritizing to develop such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, advanced biomedicine, robotics, autonomous devices, aviation, space and unmanned aerial vehicles... reported, shared experiences, proposed and recommended new solutions and good practices to promote the development of key economic sectors towards the goal of developing science and technology and innovation, digital transformation in Vietnam, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development in the new context.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy at meeting and listening to the enthusiastic, intellectual, and practical opinions from the Vietnam Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts and businessmen in Korea.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the sharing and suggestions for Vietnam to participate in the value chain of large technology corporations, and acknowledged the very practical initiatives that are close to current practical requirements to promote innovation, startups, digital transformation and orient investment attraction associated with technology transfer.

The General Secretary said that recently, the Politburo has issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution 59-NQ/TW on "International integration in the new situation"; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development. These four important Resolutions are the fundamental institutional pillars, creating strong momentum to move our country forward in the new era, realizing the vision of Vietnam becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.

The General Secretary emphasized that one of the decisive factors for success is high-quality human resources and the cooperation of intellectuals, experts, and businessmen at home and abroad.

To further deepen cooperation contents and open up new cooperation directions, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea promote its role as a key bridge between the domestic and international innovation ecosystems; promote the connection of Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs in Korea with domestic agencies, organizations, and enterprises.

The Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea proactively leads innovation initiatives, promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience to bring the world's best and progress to Vietnam; at the same time, strengthens the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, creating a unified bloc to effectively contribute to the country's development.

With relevant ministries, sectors and agencies of Vietnam, the General Secretary requested the Ministry of Finance to continue to coordinate, connect, transfer knowledge, and concretize programs, ideas and proposals of experts in Korea and other countries to form specific solutions and products with high added value, contributing to achieving major goals and solving major problems of the country./.
