Specifically, 131 traffic accidents and collisions occurred in the first quarter, killing 60 people and injuring 92. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 84 fewer cases (down 39.1%), 87 fewer injuries (down 48.6%), but 6 more deaths (11.1%).

Compared to the previous 3 months, there were 43 fewer traffic accidents and collisions, 54 fewer injuries, and 10 more deaths.

There were many accidents on national highways with 60 cases, killing 23 people and injuring 38; on provincial roads there were 41 cases, killing 20 people and injuring 23; on rural and district roads there were 12 cases, killing 5 people and injuring 10; on urban roads there were 5 cases...

After 3 months of implementing Decree 168 of the Government regulating administrative penalties for violations of traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic; deducting and restoring points on driving licenses, people's awareness of obeying the law on traffic order and safety has changed, traffic accidents have decreased significantly in number of cases and number of injured people. However, the increase in the number of deaths shows that the traffic order and safety situation is still very complicated and unpredictable.

The first 3 months of the year are associated with the New Year, Lunar New Year and spring festivals, so the number of people participating in traffic is very large, the frequency of traffic participation increases dramatically compared to normal days; awareness of compliance with the law on traffic safety and order, traffic culture of a part of the people, especially teenagers, students, workers and some drivers in the transport business is still limited...
