Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu announced information on a survey of tourism businesses at the conference.
According to the survey results, nearly 34% of businesses participating in the survey said that the number of customers has increased again, many businesses said that the business environment in Ho Chi Minh City is increasingly dynamic and open. However, businesses also pointed out shortcomings such as: high operating costs, lack of quality human resources, unfair price competition, complicated administrative procedures, difficulties in accessing financial support policies, especially for small and micro businesses.
Regarding tourism trends, businesses participating in the survey said that they recorded a strong increase in independent travel, personalized experiences, healing tourism and the need to combine technology in travel itineraries... Businesses proposed that Ho Chi Minh City soon issue policies to support MICE groups (a type of tourism combining meetings, incentives, seminars and exhibitions), promote the development of new products associated with cultural identity and green - sustainable tourism; promote international communication through specialized channels and global social networks.
In addition to the commitment to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to review, respond and remove obstacles for businesses, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasized that this conference is an opportunity for the whole industry and the business community to share the goal of accelerating and making breakthroughs in 2025, making practical contributions to the overall development of the city, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Department of Tourism continues to accompany businesses to promote demand stimulation, improve the quality of destinations, and complete the 2025 target, including welcoming 8.5 million international visitors, 45 million domestic visitors and revenue of VND 260,000 billion.
In the coming time, the City's tourism industry aims to promote the development of a comprehensive digital ecosystem based on the construction of an integrated tourism data warehouse; deploy a smart tourism operations center; encourage businesses to apply AI (artificial intelligence), Big Data (big data) and e-commerce; promote digital promotion on social networks and international platforms. Developing sustainable tourism, linking digital transformation with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on "breakthrough in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation" not only creates a breakthrough in competitiveness, but also contributes to realizing the goal of developing the City's tourism into a modern, smart, friendly and sustainable economic sector.
On this occasion, the Department of Tourism awarded the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week Awards 2024 to recognize and honor localities with outstanding contributions such as: "Friendly Destination" Award for the People's Committees of District 1, District 4, District 6, Tan Binh District, Phu Nhuan District and Nha Be District; "Active Media Destination" for the People's Committees of District 7 and Binh Thanh District; "Greenest Destination" for Thu Duc City...
