Duong Duc Minh (class 9A8, Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School) has won first prize in Mathematics in the provincial excellent student competition. This is an outstanding achievement in a highly competitive competition, and at the same time extends Duc Minh's proud list of achievements.

Previously, in 2023, Duc Minh won the gold medal at the PhiMO International Math Olympiad and the International Math Challenge (IMC). Duc Minh also won the gold medal in Math at the 2nd Olympiad for specialized subjects for secondary school students organized by Ha Long High School for the Gifted. Sharing about this achievement, Duc Minh expressed: I feel very happy and proud to have achieved this achievement for myself, for the class and for Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School. This was a difficult exam, many of the participants were very good, so I appreciate the results even more.

To achieve this result, Duc Minh spent a lot of time reviewing carefully, practicing previous years' questions and studying in groups with teachers and friends in the team. "I would like to express my sincere thanks to my teachers, especially my homeroom teacher and my math teacher who have always accompanied, guided and encouraged me throughout the review process. I am also grateful to my parents for always creating the best conditions for me to focus on studying" - Duc Minh added.

As the deputy class monitor, Duc Minh always shows a sense of responsibility and actively participates in extracurricular activities, arts, and sports. Ms. Duong Thi Ly, homeroom teacher of class 9A8, commented: Duc Minh is a student that all teachers love. Also winning the first prize in Math was Bui Minh Duc (class 9A1, Nguyen Trai Secondary School). Minh Duc showed his outstanding talent in Math and IT early on. Since grade 8, Minh Duc has impressed by winning the second prize in IT at the provincial level when participating in the "advance grade" competition. Also in this school year, Minh Duc won the first prize in IT at the city level.

Minh Duc shared: I am very happy and proud of this achievement. To prepare for the exam, I studied closely the topics that my teachers instructed during the team review period, listened attentively in class, and formed study groups with friends to discuss lessons. In addition, I also participated in online forums to learn more test-taking experiences from seniors.

Minh Duc also won the gold medal at the TIMO Math Competition at both the national and international levels. This competition attracts tens of thousands of contestants from many countries, requiring contestants to have good logical thinking, problem-solving ability and clear presentation skills. According to Minh Duc, Math and IT are both subjects that help him practice his thinking and problem-solving ability. Minh Duc feels very excited when he solves a difficult problem and that joy makes him want to study more.

Not only is Minh Duc an excellent student, he also knows how to manage his time effectively, helping to maintain his health and mental comfort. “I always try to get enough sleep and take reasonable breaks to avoid pressure. I believe that studying well does not only depend on study time but also requires reasonable methods,” Minh Duc shared.

With a special passion for Biology, Nguyen Hai Linh (class 9A5, Phuong Dong Secondary School) made a remarkable mark when he won the First Prize in Natural Science - Biology in the provincial-level Secondary School Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year. This achievement is not only a source of personal pride for Nguyen Hai Linh, but also continues to affirm the quality of training and the studious spirit of teachers and students of Phuong Dong Secondary School.

Since she was a 6th grader, Hai Linh has shown a special love for Biology. This passion has motivated her to constantly strive and excel in her studies. In 8th grade, Nguyen Hai Linh passed the provincial exam for excellent secondary school students and won second prize in Biology, an achievement that not every secondary school student can achieve.

Not stopping there, Nguyen Hai Linh continued to affirm his outstanding ability when he won the Gold Medal in Biology at the 1st and 2nd Olympiad in specialized subjects for secondary school students organized by Ha Long High School for the Gifted and continuously won the First Prize in Natural Science in the city-level excellent student competitions.

Sharing her study secrets, Hai Linh said: I study closely according to the curriculum taught by teachers in class, combined with self-study at home. Every week, I participate in two review sessions with teachers in the team, and at the same time, I actively search for exam questions, knowledge and reference books online. Studying from many sources helps me expand my knowledge, self-discover and fill in my weaknesses.

What is special about Hai Linh is not only her ability to absorb well, but also her self-awareness, passion for learning, and ability to maintain a balance between studying and resting. Hai Linh always tries to keep a comfortable spirit, focuses on exercising, getting enough sleep, and allocating time reasonably to maintain long-term learning effectiveness.
