The entire DIFF 2024 grandstand along the Han River was filled, with about 10,000 tourists and hundreds of thousands of people looking towards the night sky of Da Nang to enjoy the "masterpieces" of light between two equally matched opponents, the US and Italy.
With the theme "Made of Nature Wisdom - Natural Masterpiece", the second competition night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2024 sponsored by Sun Group and organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, left many unforgettable impressions in the hearts of visitors.
The audience was continuously amazed by a series of eye-catching fireworks effects, in the breathtaking light battle between the American rookie and the former champion Italy.
1. Fireworks display by Team Italy:
The Italian team opened the night with a masterpiece titled “The Radiant Universe: Symphony of Light”.
Having won DIFF two years in a row in 2017 and 2018, the Italian team brought their experience and understanding of the audience to their performance. With the background music of Vietnamese music hits such as “De Vuong” by Dinh Dung and “Cat Doi Noi Sau” by Tang Duy Tan, the talents from the boot-shaped country immediately made the Vietnamese audience gasp in surprise and delight.
This year, the Italian team “played a trick” by using many low-altitude fireworks displays, creating unique light formations that interacted with the Han River. The performance started with a gentle melody like the whisper of the river.
“We try to find the best quality products to ensure great results. We even prepare extremely good quality products because we want you to be shocked when you see it,” said Damiano Baraldo, Martarello’s team leader, before the show.
2. Fireworks display by Team USA:
No less impressive, the US team with over 130 years of experience fighting around the world brought an unforgettable fireworks display, a sophisticated combination of violin, rock, EDM, jazz and the most advanced pyrotechnic techniques. The audience was treated to an emotional masterpiece of light.
The “Humanity – A Bridge Between Nations” show takes visitors on a world tour with many emotions. Starting with fireworks shooting up from the river to the rhythm of flexible violins, the show quickly changes to the powerful rock melody of the legendary rock band Queen, combined with giant, colorful fireworks.
The space by the Han River was lit up, the atmosphere in the stands was continuously pushed to a climax with each high-altitude fireworks display to the vibrant EDM music. The performance ended with melodious jazz melodies and gentle, delicate fireworks like stars falling to the ground.
Each cluster of fireworks has its own meaning, painting a diverse picture of human experience. Color and music blend together, expressing the harmonious coexistence of cultures.
“Music is an emotional experience,” said U.S. captain Nancy Rozzi. “We’re putting on a very complex show. But it’s all synchronized. You’re seeing all the variations of color. It’s the kind of entertainment that we hope people will feel or enjoy.”
Kevin Park, a tourist from South Korea, shared, “What an unforgettable night! Even in the US, we have never seen fireworks displays this large and magnificent. Da Nang is truly a great travel choice.”
