In the Lion Dance event, Mai Hoa Thung Nam, this was the most attractive and anticipated event with the enthusiastic cheers of fans. With a score of 9.28 points, TP.HCM 1 rose to first place and won the gold medal, while, losing by only 0.7 points, Nam Hoa (Binh Thuan) had to accept second place with a silver medal. The two clubs Mieu 7 Ba (An Giang) and TP.HCM 2 tied for third place, with a bronze medal.

With the gold medal in this event, Ho Chi Minh City 1 won first place overall with 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal; second place went to Tu Anh Duong Club (Can Tho) with 3 gold medals; third place went to Nam Hoa Club and Tam Minh Phat Anh Club (Binh Thuan).

The 3rd National Lion Dance Club Championship in 2023 has the participation of 19 Lion Dance Clubs nationwide, such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Da Nang, An Giang, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan... The clubs compete in 7 events: Dragon Dance; Lion on the ground; Lion (Bronze) platform jumping; Lion (Bronze) individual pole climbing; Lion (Bronze) team pole climbing; Lion on Mai Hoa Thung female; Lion on Mai Hoa Thung male.

This is a national sports event organized by the Department of Sports in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan, in response to the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". At the same time, it promotes the movement of practicing and competing in Lion Dance to preserve and promote the unique cultural and sports traditions of the nation; meet the people's need to enjoy culture and sports, enhance understanding, exchange and solidarity between localities across the country.
