Inauguration of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Section Project Phase 2021 - 2025

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway Project started construction on January 1, 2023, with a total length of 65.55km, passing through the territory of two provinces : Quang Binh (old) about 33.017km and Quang Tri (old) about 32.53km, starting at Km675+400, adjacent to the Bung - Van Ninh Expressway Project in Truong Ninh commune and ending at Km740+885 adjacent to the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway Project, in Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province.

With a total investment of nearly VND 9,920 billion from the state budget, the project was completed ahead of schedule. The Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway is designed with 4 lanes, the roadbed width is 17m. The maximum speed allowed is 80 km/h, the minimum speed is 60 km/h. The operation of this expressway will connect economic and political centers, key industrial zones, especially key economic zones of the Central region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang emphasized: Quang Tri is a province with many potentials and advantages for socio-economic development in the fields of industry, energy, high-tech agriculture, logistics trade and tourism services; the operation of the North-South expressway in the East, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section, has a particularly important significance, contributing to the completion of a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; opening up new spaces, being an important driving force to promote and create breakthroughs in the development of transport infrastructure serving the socio -economy and strengthening national defense and security of Quang Tri province in particular and of provinces and cities nationwide in general.

The completion and putting into use of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway is an important milestone, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals set forth by the 13th National Congress of the Party.
