Opening of Hai Phong Book Street 2025: Journey to spread reading culture

NDO - On the evening of April 19, at Kim Dong flower garden, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong city opened the Hai Phong Book Street 2025 with the theme "Reading - The path to success".

This is the first time the Port City has organized a large-scale event dedicated to books and reading culture, which has special significance in building a learning society and forming reading habits in the community.

With a scale of 16 booths, Hai Phong Book Street 2025 gathers 15 major domestic publishers and book distributors, introducing more than 10,000 books in many fields: Children, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Literature-Arts, History-Geography.

The book stalls are designed to be modern and friendly.

The booths are designed in a modern and friendly manner, creating a comfortable space for readers to explore knowledge and interact with bookmakers. In particular, many classic publications, books loved by readers as well as new publications following domestic and foreign market trends are also displayed here.

Not only stopping at displaying and selling books, Hai Phong Book Street in 2025 also brings the public a rich experience space. The digital library and audiobook area attracts many young people to learn and experience modern forms of knowledge access.

Throughout the event, there are many exciting activities such as: author-reader exchanges, thematic seminars, inspirational talk shows, creative science programs for children, and lively street music performances, attracting a large number of people and tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City affirmed: “The Book Street is not only a place to honor reading culture, but also a space for publishing and book distribution units to meet, exchange experiences, and expand cooperation opportunities. This is also an opportunity to promote and spread the Vietnamese book brand to a large number of readers in and outside the city.”

The month-long event, from April 19 to May 20, is not only an ideal meeting place for book lovers but also contributes to shaping reading habits in the community, especially the young generation.

In the context of strong digital technology development, the presence of Book Street is an affirmation: printed books still retain their core values, being a sustainable treasure of knowledge for humanity.

Hai Phong Book Street in 2025 is like a new “reading culture specialty” of the city of red phoenix flowers. With a thorough and creative investment, the event promises to become a meaningful annual activity, contributing to building the image of a dynamic Hai Phong, rich in cultural identity and constantly learning and improving.

At the opening ceremony, participating bookstores such as Hai Phong Museum and Library, AZ Vietnam Culture and Communication Company, Dan Tri Publishing House, Minh Long Bookstore, Tien Tho Bookstore, Tien Phong Bookstore, Fahasa Bookstore, Phuong Nam Bookstore donated 1,173 books, worth nearly 63 million VND to libraries, schools and some clubs, supporting students in difficult circumstances in the city.
