Currently, the total amount of domestic waste generated in the province is about 787 tons/day. Of which, about 653 tons/day are collected and treated, accounting for about 83% of the total amount of waste generated. However, there are still about 134 tons of domestic waste per day (accounting for 17%) that have not been collected and treated hygienically, potentially causing environmental pollution and affecting public health.
Regarding the current status of applying technology to treat household waste, landfilling still accounts for the highest rate at 65.1%. Next is treatment by burning in specialized furnaces, accounting for about 25%, the remaining 9.9% of organic waste is treated at the source by households to make fertilizer.
