Responding to information that Dang Tran Con High School required teachers and students to do cleaning work if they did not attend a paid camping trip at a tourist area, on the afternoon of March 27, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien - Hue province stated that the school's practice of dividing students into groups to organize outdoor activities and work was unscientific, not in line with the goals of education, and could easily lead to problems, causing public uproar.
Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien - Hue requested the school to adjust its plan accordingly, ensuring the organization of general educational activities of the school. "The Department criticized and requested the principal of Dang Tran Con High School to seriously learn from experience in management, development and implementation of educational plans," said the representative.
The Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien - Hue also reminded and directed all schools in the province to draw common lessons after the incident at Dang Tran Con High School.

Previously, many parents whose children study at Dang Tran Con High School were upset that the school required students who did not participate in paid camps at the tourist area to work at the school.
On the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Dang Tran Con High School has developed a plan to organize activities in two forms: Organizing a picnic combined with a camping festival at the eco-tourism area and sanitation activities at the school (for students who do not participate in the camping festival).
The camp and cleaning activities were organized by the school on the same day, March 28 and 29. Teachers and students who did not participate in the camp were asked to clean the moss on the fence around the school. "Students who have not been cleaned will have to do make-up work on another day," the school announced.
Parents said that the camp is a fun and entertaining activity and students should not be forced to participate. Among the students who did not register for the camp, there were those who were busy with family matters, but there were also those who were in difficult circumstances and did not have enough money to contribute.
According to the announcement, each student participating in the camp must pay 350,000 VND, including 180,000 VND for entrance fee to the tourist area and 170,000 VND for food and drink. More than 100 students did not register to participate in this activity.
