The Indonesian Bola Times wrote: "PSSI will evaluate the recent performance of coaches Shin Tae Yong (Korean) in the national team and coach Bima Sakti in the Indonesian U17 team. It is possible that one of the two coaches will be fired."

"The meeting between Mr. Shin Tae Yong and Mr. Bima Sakti took place with PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir," Bola Times added.

Both the Indonesian national team and the Indonesian U17 team have not performed well in recent days. The Indonesian U17 team was eliminated in the group stage of the U17 World Cup held at home.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team only won one point after the first two matches of the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.

The target that the Indonesian team set for these two matches was to defeat the Iraqi and Philippine teams, but in the end they lost 1-5 to Iraq and drew 1-1 with the Philippines after being behind.

Meanwhile, PSSI Chairman, billionaire Erick Thohir revealed yesterday (November 23): "On the afternoon of November 22, I had a meeting with members of the PSSI Executive Board. We discussed a number of issues regarding preparations for next year's Asian Cup."

"The PSSI Executive Committee will convene the coaches of the national teams to review their work during the past period," PSSI President Erick Thohir added.

The first two Indonesian football coaches to be summoned to explain, at the request of the head of the Indonesian Football Federation, are Shin Tae Yong and Bima Sakti. These are the people who have led the most interested and invested football teams in the archipelago country in recent times.

The Indonesian national team is of course the most important team in the country's football, while the Indonesian U17 team is participating in the World Cup as host.

Although some observers believe that the possibility of coach Shin Tae Yong being fired is low. However, in the context that Mr. Shin Tae Yong's contract is about to expire (until June 2024), PSSI's early dismissal of the Korean coach is not impossible.

This is the case with coach Mano Polking of the Thai national team. Mr. Mano Polking still has a contract with the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) until February 2024, but FAT is not patient enough to wait for this coach to reach the above deadline.
