The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has just announced the list of 10 outstanding young Vietnamese faces in 2024. The award aims to honor typical young people under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in 9 fields: Study, scientific research, labor production, business start-up, national defense, security and order, sports, culture and arts and social activities.

Among the 10 honored faces, Than The Cong and Nguyen Huu Tien Hung are two outstanding names in the field of study, having won gold medals at international Olympics.
Than The Cong (born in 2006), is currently a student majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Cong won a gold medal at the 2024 International and Asian Physics Olympiad, a bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Physics Olympiad, and a gold medal for excellent Physics students at specialized high schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions in 2023. The male student was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President in 2024.
Nguyen Huu Tien Hung (born in 2006), is currently a student at Hanoi Medical University. Hung won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad held in Uzbekistan in 2022-2023, and was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President in 2024 for winning a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad in the same year (with the highest score of the Vietnamese delegation).
The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award has been held for the past 28 years, honoring nearly 560 individuals. After being honored, the young faces continue to strive, dedicate themselves, and make more positive contributions to their units, communities, and the country. They become prestigious leaders in the political system, successful businessmen, and exemplary citizens.
The ceremony to honor outstanding young Vietnamese faces 2024 is scheduled to take place on the evening of March 23 in Hanoi.
