Regarding preparations for the Lunar New Year, the supply of goods in the province is abundant, with no shortages yet. The total value of essential goods reserved for 3 months (from December 13, 2023 to March 9, 2024) is nearly 300 billion VND; the current reserve of gasoline and oil is over 57 million liters.

The Provincial Steering Committee 389 issued Plan No. 01/KH-BCĐ389 dated January 3, 2024 on the peak of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year; directed functional forces to proactively arrange forces and assign duties, ensuring 24/7 staff on duty to carry out anti-smuggling work in the management area.

As of January 29 (December 19 of the lunar calendar), the whole province has presented 142,625 gifts worth nearly VND49 billion to meritorious people, the elderly, the poor, social protection beneficiaries, and orphans in difficult circumstances; of which VND36 billion is from the budget and VND13 billion is from socialized sources.

The authorities launched high-profile campaigns to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year, including: arresting 7 cases/12 subjects violating laws on weapons, explosives, and supporting tools; 135 cases/282 subjects violating laws on fireworks; detecting and handling 3,157 cases of violations of road traffic safety and order, imposing fines of over 7 billion VND, revoking 693 driving licenses, temporarily seizing 703 motorbikes, 69 cars, and 6 other vehicles.

Regarding key tasks before, during and after Tet, units and localities need to assign and arrange leaders and staff to strictly implement the reporting regime and be on duty 24/24 hours at offices and necessary areas during the holidays; especially agencies, units and organizations directly responsible for handling work related to people and businesses.

Implement measures to stabilize the market, prevent shortages or sudden price increases; strengthen the role of Steering Committee 389 in market inspection and control, combat smuggling, counterfeit goods and fake goods. Step up the peak period of crime suppression; proactively prevent and fight fires and explosions; ensure security, order and traffic safety.

Organize cultural, sports, tourism and festival programs and activities well to ensure practicality, safety and economy. Launch and effectively implement tree planting movements and patriotic emulation movements, creating momentum and determination to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2024.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that units and localities should maintain and focus on implementing site clearance and disbursement of public investment capital... right from the beginning of the year.
