Specifically, the routes that will be temporarily banned and diverted include:
- Truong Thi Street, from An Duong Vuong intersection to the roundabout between axes VI Lenin - Le Hong Phong - Vo Nguyen Hien - Nguyen Phong Sac;
- VI Lenin Avenue (right lane towards the airport), from the above roundabout to the intersection with Vinh - Cua Lo Avenue;
- Vinh – Cua Lo Avenue (DT.535B), right lane towards the sea, from the intersection with VI Lenin Avenue to the intersection area of 26/3 Street.
Particularly, the section of DT.535B from Km0+00 to Km6+00 (right side of the route in the direction of Vinh - Cua Lo) will be temporarily used to organize the race and divert traffic through the service road.

The road closure and traffic control will take place from 3:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on May 4, 2025. During this time, the Provincial Police force, functional units of Vinh City and People's Committees of related wards and communes will coordinate to deploy a remote traffic diversion plan, scientific traffic control, ensuring absolute safety for athletes and people traveling through the area.
The Vinh City People's Committee also requested to temporarily stop construction works on the routes of the race before May 3, at the same time, step up environmental sanitation, urban beautification and ensure adequate lighting systems. Functional units were assigned to widely inform people and vehicles to proactively adjust the itinerary, avoiding local congestion on the morning of the race.

The race “Journey in Uncle Ho’s footsteps – For the security of the Fatherland” is jointly organized by the Vietnam People’s Public Security Sports Association, VnExpress Newspaper and Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, a large-scale sports activity within the framework of the Sen Village Festival 2025 to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025). The race is expected to open on the morning of May 4, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh Square with the participation of more than 3,000 athletes from many provinces and cities across the country, competing in 3 distances: 5 km, 10 km and 21 km.
