Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Giong Trom District Party Committee Nguyen Thai Binh said that the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Ben Tre Province and the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day is an opportunity for us to review the heroic history of the nation, honor the contributions of the working class and laborers; promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, all levels of trade unions and the team of workers and laborers in the whole district have been striving to successfully complete the tasks of socio-economic development.

The Secretary of the Giong Trom District Party Committee informed that with the consensus and support of party members, the district has implemented the project of installing LED lights on the graves of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution in 2 martyr cemeteries of Giong Trom district with 3,393 graves of martyrs and people with meritorious services (costing more than 73 million VND) and built a house "Comradely affection" (costing 90 million VND), contributed by party members in the Party Committee.

At the meeting, there was also a discussion on “Characters and Events”, exchanging with two veteran cadres who were historical witnesses who directly participated in the battles to liberate the province in general, and Giong Trom district in particular on April 30, 1975.

The district launched the book History of the Party Committee of Giong Trom District from 1930 - 2025 (reprint); introduced the collection "Songs written about Giong Trom" and presented it to the leaders and delegates attending.
