The Tra River 110kV transmission line and substation project is part of the 110kV grid construction investment plan for the 2022 - 2024 period, invested by the Northern Power Corporation, and Thai Binh Power Company is assigned to manage the project. The project has a scale of new construction of 0.064km of 110kV overhead line, double circuit, AC300 conductor, forward connection on a 110kV line circuit from Thai Binh 220kV substation - Thai Binh 110kV substation. Tra River 110kV substation is designed with 2 transformers - 63MVA, phase 1 installs 1 transformer, equipped with a collection, metering system, camera monitoring and remote control system, automatic fire prevention and fighting... The project started construction on July 26, 2024. After nearly 5 months of construction, on December 19, 2024, the project was accepted and put into operation, 12 days ahead of schedule.

Leaders of EVN Group and Northern Power Corporation said that the early completion and operation of the Tra River 110kV transmission line and substation project has contributed to reducing the load on the Thai Binh City 110kV substation and Vu Thu 110kV substation, improving the capacity and reliability of power supply for the region, ensuring power sources for socio-economic development, especially meeting the energy needs of industrial parks and industrial clusters in some localities.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination of relevant departments and branches, the consensus of the people in site clearance work, and the construction efforts of the construction unit so that the project could be implemented quickly and effectively.

To ensure safe and stable power supply to serve the socio-economic development of Thai Binh in the coming time, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested EVN Group and the Northern Power Corporation to continue to pay attention to investing in upgrading and renovating the power grid system in the province in a synchronous manner to increase investment attraction and meet the electricity demand of production and business enterprises. In particular, EVN Group and the Northern Power Corporation should accelerate the progress of research and investment in the construction of power lines and transformer stations to supply electricity to industrial parks such as VSIP Thai Binh, Hung Phu, Hai Long, etc. to ensure progress, while continuing to renovate the medium and low voltage power grid system in the area to meet the energy demand for people's lives and industrial, trade and service development of people and enterprises in Thai Binh province.
