Fortinet uses Keysight solutions to improve security efficiency

Keysight Technologies announced that Fortinet has selected Keysight's BreakingPoint QuickTest network application and security testing tool to validate the deep SSL packet inspection capabilities and security effectiveness of the FortiGate 700G series next-generation firewall (NGFW).

BreakingPoint QuickTest is Keysight's turnkey solution for performance and security testing, equipped with self-stabilizing and target-seeking algorithms to quickly evaluate the performance and security effectiveness of various network infrastructures.

Enterprise networks and systems are now facing a constant wave of attacks, including malware, vulnerabilities, and evasion techniques. These attacks have taken a serious toll, with 67% of businesses reporting being breached in the past two years, while lawsuits related to security breaches have increased by 500% in the past four years.

Fortinet developed the FortiGate 700G NGFW series to help protect enterprise network edges and distributed systems from evolving cybersecurity threats while ensuring legitimate customer traffic is processed.

FortiGate 700G is powered by Fortinet's proprietary Network Processor 7 (NP7) and Security Processor 5 (SP5) ASICs, along with the FortiOS unified operating system. Scalable HTTP and HTTPS traffic generation capabilities: Supports the full range of RFC 9411 tests used by ⦁NetSecOPEN, the industry consortium that develops open standards for network security testing. This includes the HTTPS 7.7 throughput test, which allowed Fortinet to quickly determine that the FortiGate 700G NGFW's SSL Deep Inspection feature can handle up to 14 Gbps of inspected HTTPS traffic...

Comprehensive reporting and real-time metrics: Live test feedback and clear, actionable reporting show that the FortiGate 700G successfully blocked 3,838/3,930 malware samples, 1,708/1,711 CVE threats, and prevented 100% of evasion techniques, earning an “A” grade in all security tests.
