To ensure full and widespread information to customers and to uniformly deploy customer care services, the Group requires the Power Corporations to immediately implement a number of contents including: Review and provide transparent and timely information: Power Corporations direct power companies to seriously review cases of customers with unusually increased electricity output or payment amounts in the June 2025 billing period and promptly provide information and clear explanations to customers.

Power corporations and power companies increase propaganda to customers on the following contents: Explaining how to calculate bills for June 2025; propagating changes in issuing bills, managing contracts and collecting electricity bills of power companies before and after the merger; providing information on solutions to monitor daily/monthly electricity indexes via customer care App/Web and instructions on safe, economical and efficient use of electricity...

The leaders of the power corporation and the directors of the power companies directly direct and discuss with customers or assign staff with adequate knowledge and skills to respond to customer complaints when receiving feedback on unusually increased bills. Directors of power companies are responsible to the power corporation and the Group for the results of resolving customer complaints.

Units need to provide full information on electricity consumption during the billing period, and clearly explain how to calculate the bill - especially for households using electricity for domestic purposes.

According to the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), extreme weather conditions not only greatly affect daily life but also cause the demand for electricity, especially household electricity, to increase dramatically.

June is usually the peak of the hot season, and this year, the Northern region has experienced three severe, long-lasting heat waves with temperatures reaching over 40°C at times. According to EVNNPC, in June 2025, commercial electricity output in 27 northern provinces and cities (excluding Hanoi ) reached 9.85 billion kWh - the highest level among EVN's distribution corporations.

This is the data collected according to the organizational structure before EVNNPC merged some local power companies from July 2025 to streamline the apparatus and improve operational efficiency.

Notably, on June 2, electricity consumption set a record of 373.6 million kWh in one day, while peak capacity reached 17,400 MW at 13:15 and 18,084 MW at 22:00 - an increase of 684 MW in less than 9 hours.

These figures show that the prolonged hot weather has had a strong impact on people’s electricity usage. The fact that students are staying home during the summer vacation also causes them to use air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators continuously day and night.

Notably, when the temperature difference between inside and outside the house is too large, cooling devices are forced to operate at higher capacity to maintain efficiency, leading to a spike in electricity consumption even though the usage time remains unchanged.

Even a small change in the air conditioning temperature setting can make a big difference on your electricity bill: setting the air conditioning below 27°C can increase consumption by 1.5–2% for every degree lower. In addition, not maintaining equipment regularly or using old, inefficient equipment also causes more electricity to be consumed.
