On July 11, Mr. Tran Van Bon, Director of Tien Giang Department of Transport, said that the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project phase 1, component 2 on Tien Giang side has completed bidding documents, expected to start construction at the end of July 2024.

Regarding site clearance, Cai Be District People's Committee has approved compensation, support and resettlement funds for 420 affected households and arranged resettlement areas with a total amount of over 1,000 billion VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nha, Chairman of Cai Be District People's Committee, the district has paid compensation, support and resettlement money to 418 households with an amount of over 764 billion VND, reaching over 98%.

The district is continuing to mobilize the last two households to receive money and hand over the land for the project.

Previously, the Government decided to approve the adjustment of the investment policy for the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway construction project, phase 1.

The total investment of the project is 7,496 billion VND, an increase of 1,610 billion VND compared to the total investment in the pre-feasibility study report approved by the Prime Minister.

The main reason for the increase in total project investment is due to increased site clearance costs and adjusted construction costs.

Component 1 project through Dong Thap province has a total investment of over 3,600 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is about 623 billion VND. This project was started by Dong Thap province in June 2023.

Component project 2 has a total investment capital of over 3,800 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is over 1,000 billion VND.

The Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway starts at the intersection with the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway in Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province. The end point is at the intersection with the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway in Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province.

Of which, component project 1 is 16km long, passing through Dong Thap province, component project 2 is 11.4km long, located in Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces.

The scale of the completed phase cross-section meets the standards of a four-lane highway, with an emergency lane. The cross-section of phase 1 is divided into four lanes, with a roadbed width of 17m and an operating speed of 80km/h.
