Istanbul is ranked third in the "top 20 cities in Europe for solo travelers" in 2023, according to a list released this month by Hungary-based airline Wizz Air based on reviews from the world's largest travel website Tripadvisor.

Istanbul has an excellent rating of 67% from travelers, giving it a 5-star rating. In particular, restaurants in the city have received an excellent rating of 71%.

Culture Trip, an online travel guide, commented in an article that Istanbul is a friendly and welcoming place, helping solo travelers not feel lonely.

Meanwhile, the Istanbul Tips travel platform affirmed that the city always attaches importance to ensuring security for tourists, creating a sense of security for tourists during their time visiting and exploring the city.

Hamit Kuk, a leading advisor to the President of the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies, stressed that hospitality is one of the outstanding features that attract international tourists to the country.

Turks do not care about the background, race or religion of tourists and always welcome them with warmth. Hospitality has created a culture of high-quality service in Türkiye.

Istanbul is the most visited city in the country by foreign tourists, with 16 million tourists in the first 11 months of 2023, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
