With ChatGPT, Vietnamese AI platform is among the most used in Vietnam

The State of AI Usage Report with a vision towards popularizing AI in Vietnam published by Decision Lab in August showed important AI usage trends.

Notably, Vietnam’s AI usage is at a high level, with nearly 80% of Internet users having used AI in the past 3 months. Of these, 1/3 have integrated AI into their daily routine. In addition, 55% of those who are using AI are paying for the service.

As the fastest growing digital economy in Southeast Asia at a rate of about 20% per year, the Vietnamese Government has issued policies to promote national digital transformation such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW, the National Strategy on AI under Decision 127/QD-TTg, or the "Digital Education for All" movement.

In that context, Vietnamese companies have quickly grasped the new wave of global technology, especially AI, to promote access and use of new solution trends for domestic users. According to Decision Lab, the list of AI tools that Vietnamese users currently use is very diverse, including both domestic and foreign platforms. This demonstrates the understanding of Vietnamese people's needs as well as the correct development orientation of domestic AI platforms.

Specifically, ChatGPT is still leading the list of AI tools most used by Vietnamese people with 81%, followed by Gemini and Meta AI with 51% and 36% respectively. Copilot, Deepseek and Grok are also on this list.

Vietnamese AI platforms have also made strong breakthroughs in their efforts to bring products closer to users. Specifically, Kiki - a multi-field Q&A assistant developed by 100% Vietnamese engineers of Zalo, launched in early 2025, has appeared in the rankings with global names.

Operating as an Official Account on the Zalo messaging platform under the name Kiki Info, this assistant has recorded more than 1 million user visits in less than 2 months. Thanks to direct integration on Zalo, Kiki Info users can also quickly perform Q&A tasks right on the messaging application serving nearly 80 million users without having to access websites or download new applications.

Kiki Info provides a trio of features including Q&A on various topics such as science, history, traffic laws; content creation including writing, composing emails, posting on social networks; entertainment by giving suggestions on tourist destinations, music , books, etc.

Developed on the basis of a Large Language Model (LLM) completely “Made in Vietnam”, Kiki Info has the ability to understand Vietnamese deeply and communicate effectively and closely with users. Interactive results are returned accurately, quickly and with a natural writing style.

In addition to the Kiki Info Q&A Assistant, Zalo previously successfully brought Kiki Auto to become a friendly car assistant for drivers in Vietnam. This is the first "Make in Vietnam" car assistant to reach 1 million installations and uses, providing users with a series of smart features such as directions, music, traffic warnings, smart fine reporting, AI news... All through simple voice commands, showing the understanding of the Vietnamese language in many regions and in many contexts of an assistant completely developed by Vietnamese people.
