On the evening of August 26, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the Department's professional departments and the Traffic Police Departments of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Lang Son provinces... are continuing to review cameras on the route to invite drivers involved in the convoy of more than 30 large-displacement motorcycles entering the Bac Giang - Lang Son expressway to come in for questioning.

The representative of the Traffic Police Department also said that as of the afternoon of the same day, the authorities had drawn up a record of violations and temporarily detained the vehicles of 14 violators. At the same time, one person and the vehicle were transferred to the Investigation Police Agency of Lang Giang District Police (Bac Giang) to investigate and clarify the act of resisting law enforcement officers.

Large displacement motorbikes were temporarily detained by traffic police

Previously, on the same morning, the working group of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 2 (Team 2, Traffic Police Department) consisted of 5 officers and soldiers led by Major Vu Thanh Tung.

The working group discovered a group of large-displacement motorbikes traveling on the highway in the direction of Bac Giang - Lang Son, driving motorbikes onto the highway, violating traffic safety order.

Major Nguyen Ngoc Hoan and other officers and soldiers reported to their superiors and at the same time implemented a plan to control and stop the convoy of large-displacement motorcycles.

When Major Vu Thanh Tung signaled to stop the vehicle, a motorbike with license plate 29A1-159.XX driven by NVT (born in 2000, residing in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi) hit him straight on, injuring Major Tung.

Realizing that the incident had signs of criminality, the working group restrained T., made a record of the incident, took statements from relevant people, and coordinated with Bac Giang Provincial Police to handle the case.

Initial check, NV T did not have a driver's license, no vehicle registration.

By 4:00 p.m. the same day, the working group coordinated with the Traffic Police of Bac Ninh Province to stop 4 more vehicles.

At the police station, some members of this convoy confessed that at around 6am the same day, the whole group gathered in Long Bien district and set off on a "backpacking" trip towards Lang Son. When they arrived at the above location, the incident occurred.

During the escape, some motorbikes jumped over the fence in Tan Hung commune, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province to exit the highway.

During the inspection, some vehicle drivers could not present their driver's licenses or vehicle registration papers, and one vehicle did not have a license plate.
