Van Ho commune was established on the basis of merging the communes: Van Ho, Long Luong, Chieng Yen and Muong Men, with a natural area of over 268.4 km²; with 36 villages and sub-areas; population of nearly 25,000 people. Mr. Thai Ba Sinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, said: With the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has promoted socialization, propaganda, and mobilized people and businesses and individuals to contribute and invest in building public lighting systems on commune, village, inter-village, alley and hamlet roads. Therefore, people enthusiastically responded to contribute and support working days to install the electrical system, transport materials and erect poles.
Since July 1, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has mobilized people to contribute, install and put into use 63 poles and 500W solar-powered lighting bulbs, worth 126 million VND in Hop Thanh, Chot and Nien villages, with a total length of 2.5 km. Each lighting pole is also designed with a pole to hang the national flag.
The 600-meter-long village lighting project put into use in Hop Thanh village since the end of July has brought joy to the people in the village. Mr. Trieu Van Huy, Hop Thanh village, excitedly said: Before, it was difficult to travel at night, now the roads are lit, we participate in traffic more safely. Everyone in the village is excited. The solar-powered lamp posts with the national flag attached are not only used for lighting but also to decorate the village to make it more spacious and beautiful.
In early August, the lighting project for 1.5 km of Chot village's internal road was completed, and everyone was excited. Mr. Ha Van Hien, Party cell secretary and village head, said: The village is about 3 km from the commune center on a dirt road, steep and difficult to travel. The villagers were very happy to receive financial support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to install lighting. Households took turns contributing labor days to transport materials and install light bulbs. The village also installed lighting in the village's cultural house yard, and every evening the villagers played volleyball, creating a joyful atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the village and neighbors.
The village lighting program in Van Ho commune has brought practical benefits. The Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ho commune continues to call for socialized resources, at the same time, propagate and mobilize people to respond and join hands to contribute to building a lighting system in the villages, contributing to promoting the emulation movement to build new rural areas.
