320 students get free swimming lessons

This morning, June 3, the Department of Education and Training of Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province, in collaboration with the Safe Swimming Project (Swim for Life), organized the opening of a free swimming class for disadvantaged students in the area.

Accordingly, 320 students from disadvantaged families are taught swimming for free at 2 locations: Cam Lo town center swimming pool and Thanh An secondary school swimming pool. Each class is assigned 3 teachers; there are supervisors and lifeguards; coaches are assigned to teach the correct content of the training program.

The total course duration is 16 sessions. At the end of the course, students will be awarded a certificate if they can swim 25 meters or more and float on the water for 90 seconds or more.

Organizing free swimming classes aims to raise awareness of drowning prevention, equip children with necessary swimming skills, contribute to ensuring life safety, and reduce drowning accidents.
