Used Class A cars are hard to compete with

In the Vietnamese market, VinFast VF3 and Wuling Hongguang MiniEV are the only two models in the low-cost mini car segment. With the selling price of VF 3 starting from only 240 million VND and Wuling Hongguang MiniEV at 239 million VND, these two models offer a price suitable for the majority of Vietnamese people.

With a price range of less than 300 million VND, it will be very difficult to buy used cars or cars with low mileage.

Mr. Dang Quang, a sales staff of the used car showroom HT Auto located on Quang Trung Street, Ha Dong, said that with a price range of 250-300 million VND, users can choose A-class cars that are 5-7 years old such as Kia Moning, Hyundai i10.

Or B-class cars with a usage period of over 10 years such as: Toyota Vios, Honda City, Hyundai Accent.

"Car models with many years of use cause the quality of the car to deteriorate, and these models are often used as service vehicles. With such models, it will be very difficult to buy a satisfactory car that does not break down," Mr. Quang shared.

Therefore, if customers cannot find a reputable store, they will face many risks such as depreciation rate, damage, maintenance costs and bigger problems such as collision and water hammer.

With the advantage of new cars and long-term warranty, cheap mini electric cars like VF3 and Wuling Hongguang MiniEV bring peace of mind, without worrying about repair history like old models.

This has partly influenced the decision to buy a car of young customers, buying a car for the first time. People who have little experience with cars, will prioritize buying a car model with high reliability over appearance or exterior.

The right choice for a "shopping" vehicle

"Shopping cart" is a phrase used to refer to carts purchased for short-distance travel by housewives or office workers, or families buying a second cart.

With a travel distance of up to 200km after each charge, the VinFast VF3 model will be suitable for short-distance travel needs such as: shopping, picking up children or going to work nearby.

Previously, "shopping" cars were usually class A models, with reasonable prices, compact exteriors, and easy to move around in crowded inner cities.

However, currently, electric mini cars with lower selling price and operating costs, simple maintenance, are being considered by many customers.

Ms. Nhat Xuan, residing in Dong Da, Hanoi, shared that her family originally planned to buy another class A car. However, due to economic problems, they decided to switch to buying a VinFast VF3.

"My husband and I decided to put down a deposit to buy the VinFast VF3, because the car meets our family's needs. The car is not too expensive, easy to operate and move around the city, very suitable for daily commuting to pick up the children," Ms. Xuan added.

Cheap mini electric cars are gradually becoming the choice of many Vietnamese users, as they meet the needs of a daily commuter vehicle with many suitable criteria.
