For Tra Vinh province (old), the list of repairs for more than 20 high schools with a total capital of 10.3 billion VND. Ben Tre province (old) invested about 23 billion VND for high schools.
Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province, Ms. La Thi Thuy, said that the Department coordinated with the locality to review the facilities and equipment of schools in the province. Thereby, it advised to allocate more than 49 billion VND to build, renovate, upgrade and repair 49 affiliated units to serve the new school year.
The Department of Education and Training coordinates with the Provincial Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works to urgently complete equipment, expected to be completed by September 2025 for units in Vinh Long (old) and by December 2025 in Ben Tre and Tra Vinh (old).
The industry also strengthens the socialization of education, encouraging organizations, individuals and businesses to join hands in investment and support.
The preparation of textbooks for the 2025-2026 school year in Vinh Long province has been basically completed. Accordingly, Vinh Long Book and Equipment Joint Stock Company has published about 70-75% of the plan (nearly 1 million copies), the rest is being imported and continues to be distributed.
Supply of textbooks according to the old area is planned from the end of 2024. Ensure students have enough books before the first day of school.
Regarding staff, after the merger, the Education sector of Vinh Long province still lacks nearly 2,943 positions, mainly in teachers and staff.
Of which, Preschool Education lacks 826 people, Primary Education lacks 984, Secondary Education lacks 637, High School lacks 267 and Continuing Education lacks 229 people. Additional recruitment is expected to be completed in 2025.
