Under the agreement, BatX Energies will provide a comprehensive solution for high voltage (HV) battery recycling, material recovery, and battery reuse for VinFast ’s factory and aftermarket operations in India. BatX Energies’ process will enable efficient recovery and reintegration of critical materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel into the battery manufacturing cycle. This approach not only contributes to the circular economy, reduces dependence on mineral extraction, but also minimizes environmental impact.

The partnership between VinFast and BatX aims to promote the development of local solutions that are suitable for the rapidly growing electric vehicle market in India. With a common goal of battery lifecycle management and environmental protection, VinFast and BatX aim to provide sustainable and scalable solutions that bring practical benefits to people and the planet.

This is not just a technical collaboration, but a shared commitment to driving India’s green transition. The agreement also opens up opportunities for future collaboration in battery reuse, municipal waste recycling, and strategically important material recovery, further strengthening India and Vietnam’s leadership in the circular economy . BatX will also ensure traceability of raw materials and batteries during recycling.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, General Director of VinFast Asia, said: “The partnership with BatX Energies is an important step in the journey to build a sustainable and circular battery ecosystem in India. For VinFast, sustainable development is not only limited to electric vehicles but also reflected in environmental responsibility throughout the product lifecycle. Through this partnership, we hope to reduce our dependence on resources, support national goals, and set a new standard for responsible innovation in the electric vehicle industry.”

“Partnering with VinFast demonstrates our shared belief in responsible innovation and a circular economy to enhance the EV battery value chain ,” said Utkarsh Singh, CEO of BatX Energies. “By deploying sustainable end-of-life battery solutions, we are building an infrastructure that can grow with the industry and create a lasting positive impact on the environment.”

In its quest to build a future-ready electric vehicle ecosystem in India, VinFast has been continuously expanding its network of strategic partners. The company has recently established partnerships with Global Assure for roadside assistance, myTVS and RoadGrid for after-sales services and charging infrastructure. These efforts demonstrate VinFast’s commitment to providing a reliable vehicle ownership experience to its customers.

VinFast is preparing to launch its first two premium electric vehicles in India, the VF 6 and VF 7. To support this strategy, the company is accelerating progress at its Thoothukudi plant, while investing heavily in its dealer network, service capabilities and charging infrastructure across the country.
