To improve the success rate of IVF, the Department of Assisted Reproduction has implemented genetic techniques (diagnosis of Thalassemia gene mutations, AZF region mutations causing male infertility, sperm fragmentation testing, detection of chromosomal aneuploidy by QF-PCR...) to screen and select healthy embryos, increasing the chance of successful pregnancy. In particular, couples who have been identified as carrying the Thalassemia gene (congenital hemolytic anemia) and want to have healthy children should perform in vitro fertilization and embryo screening with the aim of selecting disease-free embryos to transfer into the uterus.

In the field of obstetrics and gynecology, the hospital has successfully performed emergency surgery to resuscitate many cases of patients with severe preeclampsia; embolization in the treatment of ectopic pregnancy, uterine fibroids, and incisional pregnancy; laparoscopic surgery to treat genital prolapse; laparoscopic surgery to suture the uterus before pregnancy; chorionic villus biopsy, etc.

In addition, the hospital is also a pioneer in receiving, transferring and strongly applying modern achievements and techniques of fetal medicine such as: chorionic villus sampling, umbilical cord blood collection, puncture, amnioinfusion... to improve the effectiveness of prenatal diagnosis, helping to detect early abnormalities in children, thereby saving lives and treating fetuses and newborns.

Thanks to advances in fetal medicine and molecular genetics, many structural abnormalities and genetic disorders of the fetus can be diagnosed at a very early stage, in the first 3 months of pregnancy, helping to better intervene in treatment or if abortion is indicated, it can be performed at an early gestational age, the procedure will be gentler, somewhat easing the pain for the pregnant woman. Not only stopping at screening and diagnosing fetal malformations before birth, but now a number of diseases and fetal malformations have been successfully treated at the fetal stage...
