Viettel Post proposes to invest in 2 cargo terminals at Long Thanh International Airport

As one of the leading delivery companies in Vietnam, Viettel Post owns more than 8,200 service points, 40,000 employees serving at customer addresses and a warehouse system spanning 63 provinces and cities.

Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation has just sent a document proposing to the Ministry of Transport to participate in investing in the construction and operation of Cargo Terminal No. 2; Express Cargo Terminal, group of construction items 4a of Component Project 4 - Investment and construction project of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1.

In case of being selected as the investor of Cargo Terminal No. 2 and Express Cargo Terminal, Viettel Post commits to ensuring the construction and installation progress of the items; making synchronous and modern investments and applying the most advanced technologies to build and operate the Cargo Terminal and Express Cargo Terminal meeting international standards.

This investor also committed to deploying a smart warehouse system, integrating IoT, AI, and Big Data for effective management and operation; contributing to ensuring national security for the Long Thanh International Airport Project.

It is known that in recent times, Viettel Post has been developing software and investing in technology to serve the management, control and supervision of transportation and circulation of domestic goods and import and export goods in a scientific , convenient and cost-optimized manner.

However, up to now, Viettel Post still lacks an important link in its multimodal and cross-border transport network, which is investing in building and operating air freight logistics infrastructure.

“Long Thanh International Airport is an opportunity for Viettel Post to complete its multimodal and cross-border transport network to serve the goal of becoming a major logistics brand in the region and the world,” said a leader of Viettel Post.

According to Decision No. 1777/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2020 of the Prime Minister, Component Project 4 includes 17 construction items, divided into 2 groups: Group of construction items 4a (included in the total investment of the Project) includes the following items: (1) Cargo Terminal No. 21; (2) Express Cargo Terminal; (3) Forwarder Warehouse No. 1; (4) Aircraft Cleaning Processing Area No. 1; (5) Ground Service Vehicle Maintenance Area No. 1; (6) Airline Catering Area No. 1; (7) Solar Power System.

Group of construction items 4b (not included in the total investment of the Project) includes the following items: (8) Fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the source port to the Port boundary; (9) Aircraft cleaning treatment area No. 2; (10) Ground service vehicle maintenance area No. 2; (11) Forwarder warehouse No. 2 to No. 8; (12) Aviation catering area No. 2; (13) Airline operations center; (14) Aircraft maintenance area (hangar); (15) Airport city; (16) Aviation industrial park; (17) Aviation logistics area.
